Baseball pitcher Trevor Bauer has been accused by another woman of sexual assault and choking her unconscious, this time in Arizona in late 2020, when the woman said in court filings that he raped her, got her pregnant and also held a jagged steak knife to her throat.

Bauer, 32, has denied the allegations in court records and has countersued the woman, accusing her of fraud, extortion and fabricating her pregnancy. The woman filed her civil complaint against him in December and then amended it more recently with details of her alleged encounters with him, becoming the fourth publicly known woman to make similar allegations against the former Cy Young Award winner.

Loved that the A's fan did a reverse boycott and seem to be a great success.

I did know. Unfortunately, he wiped out in Seattle before that. I don't think .400 is as unlikely as a 56-game hitting streak--you don't have to go 2-5 every game--but even a mini-slump requires a serious hot streak to get back to close to where you were, and even there you probably lost some ground.

That's really strange--I assumed general lineup strength was part of why Miami's doing so well. He's also got enough XBH that he should end with 50+ for the year, so he's almost slugging .500--he's not a Punch-and-Judy guy this year.

Will be rooting for Arráez to go 15-15 against the Jays and to die at first every time. (I didn't monitor the HOF inductions here in St. Marys over the weekend, but I bet Olerud--who was elected in 2020 and was finally formally put in--fielded at least a couple of Arráez questions.)

That's pretty funny. I've been posting away here for ~15 years about things that interest me, with no real concern about whether it's of interest to anyone else. Arráez is having an incredible year, and I will continue to post about him. (I will start a separate thread in the next few days.) I'll have to try hard to not get distracted by the future superstar with the .215/.315/.395 slash line, but try I will.
