I feel bad for him, the team is winning and he obviously wants to compete. On the other hand, he'll be getting 185M no matter what, and the Rangers were dumb enough to roll the dice.

Verlander was a few years older than deGrom when he had TJ and came back better than ever, so I want to be optimistic that we haven't seen the last of peak deGrom.

I watched the deGrom clip. If it's possible to feel sorry for someone who with $185 million dollars, I did--I'm sure he's carrying around a fair amount of guilt in with the disappointment.

Kind of funny that he includes Ruth, who seemed to move past the bittersweetness of his aborted pitching career. I know Fidrych's injury happened early, but I might include him instead.
