funnest thing i found out about Si was this classless rant from Shaun Murphy from 2021, made his first round victory even sweeter in retrospect

"I'm going to sound like a grumpy old man but that young man shouldn't be in the tournament," Murphy, known as the Magician, told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"It's not fair, it's not right... I don't know why we as a sport allow amateurs to compete in professional tournaments. This is our livelihood. This is our living. We're self-employed individuals and not contracted sportsmen. We don't play for a team."

yes saw the 23rd frame of this and it was dire. Selby missed a red to the corner by at least 5" , Allen failed to capitalise, played a good snooker got this miss from Selby then flubbed an easy red to the centre pocket. appalling standard for a semi final.

Selby managed to clear for a century to be one away.

Allen has relaxed a bit and has won the last three frames. Nothing fiery but just more fluent. 16-13.

Brecel has talked about being 'bored' of longer matchplay but I assume that's bcz he couldn't get past the 1st round.

I'd make him a slight favourite as I don't think Selby is in really great scoring form, and he has always scored heavy to win his world titles.

Brecel has never beaten Selby in three matches.

Usually I'd prefer a tight encounter but that would favour Selby, so Brecel to drub this guy as my hope.
