I'm happy anytime Christopher Lloyd pops up, especially if he's given a line like "If I trigger this failsafe, it will convert the planet's docile workforce back into battle droids and unleash them upon the unsuspecting citizens of Plazir!", which he delivered with the appropriate gravitas

Giancarlo Esposito hamming it up like a silent film villain. Fun episode. Weird music cues, though, before the big showdown. Sounded very 70s "Battlestar Galactica" or something. Makes me wonder if the budget got squeezed very tight lol.

Really liked the new episode, thought it was one of the best of the last two seasons. It was over the top in the best kind of way, 10 year-old me would have thought it was the best thing ever (to that, my 11 year-old said "BEST. EPISODE. EVER" after it was over....)

I always try to keep the "this is really for kids" in mind when watching, to keep the more ridiculous aspects in check and enjoy the ride, but to the discussion of the pirate guy even my kid said "what is this a Muppets crossover?" when he first showed up. And, yeah, total POTC vibes.

My kids and I watched SPACEBALLS a month or two back so whenever that pirate guy comes on we all shout Pizza the Hut!!”

the hard juxtaposition of clowny corny stuff and like, 'sw-canon-theme' stuff usually works right for this series (except the power rangers ep, which was just, oh man, stop these drill sequences). this weeks ep was v fun with the villain reveal scene and impulsivity+ grodu.

Lots of proper old school SW moments and feels in this final one. Even the music improved!

Music seemed very low in the mix in some of the battle scenes.

we've rewatched this scene twice already. Also love "Bad baby! No squeezy!"

OK but kinda strange finale. Why have the Darksaber be destroyed so easily? And if he can do that he can survive the inferno but a final scene with the other Imperial strays including Kane reacting to news of his demise would've kept some intrigue going into next season or other tie-ins.

Good stuff indeed, nicely sets up whatever happens next (be it the Filoni crossover film or a season 4 of random shenanigans).

Din Djarin had some John Wick feeling moves. Gideon talking about trinkets from within an ironman suit. Seemed to take too much time for Gideon to find them given he had dots on a map.

The finale was lots of fun with some great original trilogy vibes at a few points.
