Finally watched that video, new game (mechanics) look awesome. I rarely play my Switch, but will def. (eventually) get this.

I'm unemployed and looking for a job, I'm not sure if this is coming out at the best or the worst possible moment

i think the only way to manage it is some sort of rewards system (identify a possible job opp, reward with a shrine, update a section of the resume, shrine, 20 minutes straight of trying to find a job and failing, shrine). however, i have never successfully implemented this system for longer than a day. signed, unemployed happy guy

i think this game is going to be great botw was amazing even tho it often wasnt that good as a game where it seems like they stepped up the game stuff with this one, lord willing it will have dungeons

seems like theres going to be underground stuff too i mean theres def going to be underground stuff theyve shown the caves we just dont know how deep it goes

idk i am still skeptical that it will have dungeons i'll believe it when i see it. i do miss the dungeons though, you need a lot of cool overworld setpieces to make up for their absence and botw barely managed it

one thing people (youtubers) picked up from the trailers is theres clearly two sets of powers one whos icons are lil pictures of the power and one that look like japanese characters, you could assume that one set is picked up in the tutorial area but then where do the other set come from, dungeons?

I worry that I'll miss the amazing newness of experiencing BOTW for the first time, and that this sequel will just seem like a larger-than-usual DLC.

But as my therapist says, "stop anticipating what you're going to worry about, and worry about it when it actually happens" (or something)

my theory is there are dungeons and you get an apostrophe from the goddess hylia every time you beat one

yeah those are prob the lil vials link carries on his hip that serve as the battery for the vehicles you build the more tears the further you can go which is a common formulation from life that we all know

it could be that you get a power midway through the dungeon then use it to complete it where you get the tear which would be in the style of classic zelda dungeons

Using the Heroes Path mode to find all kinds of things I hadn’t discovered. It’s amazing how much is in this game. Last night I found the bowling with snowballs cabin.

i think on a long enough timeline they eventually make a zelda game that has like a surprise section where you play as zelda for a while like halfway through the game but its funny just how resilient they have been to the idea. also the botw nonlinear progression model kinda prevents stuff like that

i also hope they make another 2d zelda someday, they did it with metroid which has me hopeful

lot of people were speculating on playable zelda in this one but idk

smash ultimate has soured me against playable zelda, she was so gd annoying

i think its good to keep the tension of never having her playable even tho the game is named after her

can i set the camera at a crazy dutch angle when link is diving out of the sky like in the trailer

Holy shit this new trailer. I really wasn't going to play this, I do not have time, but ...

lol I know! When I played BOTW I was home during the pandemic and had the time to get lost in it. I'm going to have to play this in thirty minute segments every night with an alarm to make myself get to bed on time.

Adulting suuuuucks

My Switch is kinda gathering dust, and my Playstation backlog is huuuuuuge, but I had such a good time with BOTW that it will be hard to resist. Still, the time before I get to it allows all the nerds to figure out many of the secrets and tricks, which I have no problem with. In fact, at this point it's tradition: I had the original NES, and I beat the original Zelda, but I could not have done it without the (printed! published! possibly mail-ordered!) guide.

Those constant disclaimers are hilarious.

Looks cool, like the perfect match of design/material and (relatively limited) console technology. Which makes sense, its predecessor basically perfected open world exploration.

My son and i were trying to ponder how many thousands of hours of footage are going to be on youtube 1 hour after it's released.

I don't know if it's good or bad but he's going to know everything about it within a week.
