I don't think it's a coincidence that two years later, another plucky Chicago novelty act - the Bears Shufflin' Crew - released the "Super Bowl Shuffle."

It was a great time for fans of Chicago-related shuffle-adjacent novelty pop songs.

I'll say this for "The Super Bowl Shuffle": it remains the highest-charting song by (or even about) a sports team in the US. There were no fewer than ten similar songs in its wake, but none of them -- not even the ones assisted by Bootsy Collins or Prince -- sold in Shufflin' Crew numbers.

Yeah it's a shame that the Pink Floyd / Houston Astros concept album Astro-nomy Domine never caught on.
