im sure you could find this info if you wanted its def tracked by various industry entities and their are activists that put together lists who feel like have been pretty successful in the case of fox news at least there arent a ton of blue chip advertisers on there

i regret that i spent years believing that if they were convincingly shown that they were being lied to, it would make any difference at all on their actions. it doesn't. "debating" or arguing things with people i knew that i cared about, randos at a bar, the comment section of watts up with that, people in the family, everything. such a complete waste of time and a terrible headspace to be in.

yup I get into arguments with a family member about this dumb shit and I always try to stop myself because there is just no winning. recently he's onto this idea that the vaccine is causing a lot of young healthy people to suddenly die, that it's causing all these crazy heart problems and clotting issues and it's all just going completely unreported. and his evidence is a very long documentary hosted on some crazy rightwing site. I don't watch it but if you look it up you can see all the ways it's wrong. like obviously wrong.

for example their 'evidence' involves video footage of events that were taken in 2018 or 2019, well before the vaccine, sometimes even before Covid itself. and you can prove it too. here's the footage. here's where that footage is from. here's the date on it. OBVIOUSLY THE FILMMAKERS KNEW THIS and included it anyway because they think you're too stupid to look it up. one would think that would be the end of it. oh, but it's not. instead its like "well you're just nitpicking" or "you didn't address the other points, if even a fraction is true this is a big deal", or worst of all "I suspect maybe they intended to put that in there" for whatever reason. THAT is the sort of worldview that I think is going to make shit much worse than it has to be. How many people have died of Covid thanks to this bullshit???

I am always flabbergasted by this covid denial shit and yet we're at the point where I just watched a congressional hearing where Jim Jordan and Matt Taibbi were telling me that the republic is in danger because someone at the NHO wrote an email about countering an RFK Jr. anti-vax tweet.

I know this won't convince anyone, but I'd point out that over 72% of the entire global population has taken covid vaccines, so if it were killing lots of people it would be very obvious to everyone.

The prosecutors offered Mr. Trump the chance to testify next week before the grand jury that has been hearing evidence in the potential case, the people said. Such offers almost always indicate an indictment is close; it would be unusual for the district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, to notify a potential defendant without ultimately seeking charges against him.

In New York, potential defendants have the right to answer questions in the grand jury before they are indicted, but they rarely testify, and Mr. Trump is likely to decline the offer. His lawyers could also meet privately with the prosecutors in hopes of fending off criminal charges.

Any case would mark the first indictment of a former American president, and could upend the 2024 presidential race. It would also elevate Mr. Bragg to the national stage, though not without risk.

In New York, falsifying business records can amount to a crime, albeit a misdemeanor. To elevate the crime to a felony charge, Mr. Bragg’s prosecutors must show that Mr. Trump’s “intent to defraud” included an intent to commit or conceal a second crime.

In this case, that second crime could be a violation of New York State election law. While hush money is not inherently illegal, the prosecutors could argue that the $130,000 payout effectively became an improper donation to Mr. Trump’s campaign, under the theory that because the money silenced Ms. Daniels, it benefited his candidacy.

Combining the criminal charge with a violation of state election law would be a novel legal theory for any criminal case, let alone one against the former president, raising the possibility that a judge or appellate court could throw it out or reduce the felony charge to a misdemeanor.

My dad was in the Air Force in the early '70s. He must have become a USAA member at some point, because USAA members can pass membership to their kids afaict in perpetuity. I have no other connections to the military, but my kids should be able to use USAA, too.
