I'm not convinced that yanking the auth is sufficient to keep them from noticing it's not the twitter client, but running all the app requests through a proxy and investigating if they're doing any header/metadata tricks would make it harder to track imo

The only thing they really uncovered was that the FBI was spending a lot of its time reporting satirical tweets to Twitter. But that stuff was buried under so much other junk it never made any impact.
