visually and as an acting showcase, sure, contrivance of the narrative felt a bit hokey tho, guess it was a vehicle for the visual poetry or whatever

saw Enys Men yesterday, that might be more of a 2023 film but would be close to or at the top of my 2022 list, obv owes a lot to its UK cinema forebears (shades of Under The Skin, Penda's Fen blah blah) but also came off as a far-more-successful take on the Upstream Color slow sound-games, hopefully with a better IRL ending between director and actor as well

dunno if I mentioned this but coming back from Aftersun a dude on the tube complimented my outfit and I think it might've been because I looked like I was about to start sobbing
