yeah fabinho really can't run now, I mean he never could but now he REALLY can't.
getting misty eyed for the much derided hendo/gini/milner days.

gapko will probably be great but he seems unnecessary.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:34 (one year ago) link

also brighton are legit v good and as far as I can tell v well run, manager falling out with player spat notwithstanding.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:35 (one year ago) link

also cos I have barely paid attention I had assumed arsenal were strolling the league cos city and lfc were regressing and I hadn't fully appreciated their p fucking outrageous points total so far. so kudos.

They've only lost one league game this season... but then so have Newcastle!

Feel like sacking Klopp would lead to a load of other departures and put Liverpool back in rebuild mode for maybe five years or more, otoh with some luck and some good buys over the summer they could be back in contention next season, so hope he's staying.
There is of course the "selling to Qatar" question hanging over everything but trying not to think about that.

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:38 (one year ago) link

can't see Liverpool ditching him and if i was them i wouldn't, but he's short on excuses at the moment imo

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:40 (one year ago) link

They're never going to sack him.

Once you could kick a Spurs fan on the ILX

the latest on my upstairs neighbour is that besides Iran and Argentina, he supports Barcelona

imago, Sunday, 15 January 2023 19:46 (one year ago) link

actually watched a whole game for a change. lloris horrendous for the first goal. arsenal were properly good first half and spurs huffed and puffed 2nd half. spurs fan who kicked ramsdale in the back at the end was as half hearted and craven about it as his team and manager. erik dier's post match interview was a study in somnolence. oh and richarlison still a wanker.

oscar bravo, Sunday, 15 January 2023 20:58 (one year ago) link

Yeah I’m not enjoying this hope

I remember when Ramsdale was the punching bag of the entire Sky commentary team, now he's a monster

Can't recall if there are any Villa fans itt but you have reason to be excited about getting Jhon Duran from Chicago. String, fast fwd with tons of potential.

*Strong

quite hard to tell if villa fans are excited

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Monday, 16 January 2023 20:03 (one year ago) link

Yeah I think on aggregate we had no idea who he was until four hours ago and our curiosity is piqued, and we also really want to sign Matteo Guendouzi or whatever?

Fuck me

groovypanda, Thursday, 19 January 2023 20:51 (one year ago) link

city have caught lfc's lethargy.
awful pass from ederson 1-0
awful attempt at a tackle from rodri
2-0
tbf spurs were good in that last 15 mins.
haaland has missed one good chance and one difficult one.

oscar bravo, Thursday, 19 January 2023 20:59 (one year ago) link

lethargy over

oscar bravo, Thursday, 19 January 2023 21:24 (one year ago) link

Spurs have just realised who's winning the league

imago, Thursday, 19 January 2023 21:30 (one year ago) link

City had better win the league with these bloody points...

lilcraigyboi (Craigo Boingo), Thursday, 19 January 2023 22:15 (one year ago) link

Hoping for a new crop of baffling, seemingly AI-generated banners in the Everton end on MOTD but they are possibly all leaving at half time

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 21 January 2023 16:03 (one year ago) link

Our top-flight status may well be toast
And we booked too early on Avanti West Coast

Michael Jones, Saturday, 21 January 2023 17:50 (one year ago) link

decent game this!

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Sunday, 22 January 2023 17:51 (one year ago) link

no kidding

last 15's been so frantic

was sure that'd be ruled out somehow

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Sunday, 22 January 2023 18:21 (one year ago) link

Zinchenko definitely looked offside on the initial ball, which they didn't appear to check?

Arsenal deserved the win though. Utd just invited too much pressure for the last half an hour

Number None, Sunday, 22 January 2023 18:29 (one year ago) link

Sadly this is the point of the season when City win 18 games in a row

imago, Sunday, 22 January 2023 18:37 (one year ago) link

bielsa at Everton would be hilarious. managing the most unathletic team in the league would break him surely. or the players.

oscar bravo, Monday, 23 January 2023 21:19 (one year ago) link

So Chelsea will now have spent in the region of €600m since last summer

Seems fine

Absolutely nothing wrong can come from giving out multiple 8 or 9 year contracts for 100+k a week

Case against Mason Greenwood haz been dropped. I didn't really follow all the original details of the case as what I did read was quite sickening. Would be very uneasy about seeing him play again though

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2023 17:39 (one year ago) link

Has not haz

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2023 17:39 (one year ago) link

I really really hope the club is looking into how to terminate his contract as quickly as possible

Number None, Thursday, 2 February 2023 17:55 (one year ago) link

totally agree

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2023 17:57 (one year ago) link

Ditto Benjamin Mendy if he manages to slither out of the remaining allegations too

I really really hope the club is looking into how to terminate his contract as quickly as possible

Yep

Nasty, Brutish & Short, Thursday, 2 February 2023 22:00 (one year ago) link

Mason Greenwood has had all charges against him dropped following the "withdrawal of key witnesses"

nothing completely fucking dodgy about this at all

calzino, Thursday, 2 February 2023 22:53 (one year ago) link

yeah this is not a story of no case to answer

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2023 22:56 (one year ago) link

hoping the club do the right thing, but don't really trust them at all. one good thing is they don't urgently need him as a player at the moment, so i'm hoping they realise his toxicity vastly outweighs any footballing benefit of retaining him.

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2023 23:05 (one year ago) link

i mean this should not be a footballing decision at all, but sancho is back, martial is back, two decent attacking players secured in the january window, rashford in the form of his life, antony finding his feet, just get rid of the guy asap

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 February 2023 23:09 (one year ago) link

PNE would definitely sign him

calzino, Thursday, 2 February 2023 23:22 (one year ago) link

just clocked the everton v arsenal score, bloody hell

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Saturday, 4 February 2023 14:16 (one year ago) link

who'd have thought that all Everton needed was a good old fashioned full kit wanker coach to turn them into a decent side!

calzino, Saturday, 4 February 2023 14:23 (one year ago) link

Genuinely a brilliant performance from Everton. Arsenal barely had a sniff

Number None, Saturday, 4 February 2023 14:29 (one year ago) link

a spectre is haunting the Prem

again

the sex lives of quoll-ish girls (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 4 February 2023 14:31 (one year ago) link

even neutrals are saying Burnley play some very attractive football these days. Maybe Dyche can change his ways as well. Or maybe the worst is yet to come!

calzino, Saturday, 4 February 2023 14:49 (one year ago) link

ffs why couldnt we have been franks last game

Lol Wolves lineup has like four players who are recent acquisitions
