Kilman would not have been able to defend that if he'd hit it right

Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 4 January 2023 21:52 (one year ago) link

Not a great night for Everton in any case

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Wednesday, 4 January 2023 21:54 (one year ago) link

If BBC Sport don't describe that as a "pulsating encounter" then I don't even know any more

Wolves were incredible in the first half

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Wednesday, 4 January 2023 21:54 (one year ago) link

yeah, shame they couldn't keep it up. Villa def the better side in the second half by leaps and bounds

Fash Gordon (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 4 January 2023 21:56 (one year ago) link

Damn, the Everton-Brighton highlights are funny as shit, Tarkowski falling over in slow motion trying to do a John Terry heroic last-ditch face block for no reason and March just slowly walking round him and putting it in the bottom corner

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Wednesday, 4 January 2023 23:43 (one year ago) link

saw some clip yesterday of a player slowly getting up from lying down hurt and the guy hastily taking the resultant free kick just blasts it straight in his face, pretty sure it was that match?

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Wednesday, 4 January 2023 23:48 (one year ago) link

this was glorious too:

This goal is absolutely ridiculous from Everton:

- Overhit freekick to nobody
- Player tackled trying to get his body across the ball
- No look pass to nobody
- Goalkeeper takes out his own teammate
- Defender misses the ball trying to clear it

All in 20 seconds 😂👏 pic.twitter.com/oGkgCAcNiC

Aw naw, no' an Antonioni wan oan noo an' aw (Tom D.), Thursday, 5 January 2023 07:15 (one year ago) link

you can see Lampard has been putting in a lot of training-ground set-piece coaching hours with his side, lol. How did this card ever get onto the list of approved premiership managers for big clubs? well I know the answer to that.

calzino, Thursday, 5 January 2023 09:29 (one year ago) link

Lolsea

that's the post

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 12 January 2023 23:14 (one year ago) link

BBC have been running hard with the idea that this will be the closest Manchstuh Derby for years, I guess that would mean a draw? Someone leaking finishes to them?

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 14 January 2023 12:29 (one year ago) link

City could walk it and the Beeb would still be technically correct

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 January 2023 13:00 (one year ago) link

Everton's board of directors will not attend Saturday's Premier League game against Southampton because of a "real and credible threat to their safety".

it's all Lampard's fault really

calzino, Saturday, 14 January 2023 13:12 (one year ago) link

Think Utd have beaten City eight or nine times during this decade of sky blue domination? As an Evertonian I’d be very happy with that sort of local power imbalance.

I’ve been advised to stay away from Goodison for years, also for the sake of my well-being. (Falls over drumkit, fails to find exit).

i like to think this will make Arsenal's upcoming choke more spectacular

Yeah I’m not enjoying this hope

Bruno equaliser was iffy AF but fucking loving the result nonetheless

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Saturday, 14 January 2023 14:58 (one year ago) link

Apparently the new interpretation of the rule, if you don't touch the ball you're grand

It's fairly stupid but sure look

Number None, Saturday, 14 January 2023 15:00 (one year ago) link

Lol I was two minutes late turning back on Wolves after halftime and missed the goal.

I can take a hint, boys!

fentanyl young (Neanderthal), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:13 (one year ago) link

Definitely much more impressed with the attack today

fentanyl young (Neanderthal), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:14 (one year ago) link

I guess there's a lot moving parts on a free kick like that but I don't get why Pickford would show JWP to that side of the goal so much and then stand completely still while he kicks it there

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:41 (one year ago) link

wellbeck scoring against liverpool will never not warm my flabby heart

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:43 (one year ago) link

Getting tired of millimeters chalking off goal after goal

fentanyl young (Neanderthal), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:54 (one year ago) link

WIN

fentanyl young (Neanderthal), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:54 (one year ago) link

everton beaten at home by southampton after leading at half-time, oops

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:58 (one year ago) link

Everton fans need someone to punch up the copy on those angry banners up for them, nobody's speed-reading your essay lads

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 14 January 2023 16:58 (one year ago) link

Southampton look relatively competent from what I saw there, wonder how this relegation battle's going to shape up

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 14 January 2023 17:02 (one year ago) link

Wolves, Forest, Southampton all won. And we're only halfway thru the season.

Stoked for the madness

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 January 2023 17:04 (one year ago) link

Gonna be very hard to not post the Battle of Bramall Lane to that new George Santos thread

Lamps AND Klopp out

A Drunk Man Looks At Partick Thistle (Tom D.), Saturday, 14 January 2023 17:24 (one year ago) link

tbf one of those has a history of winning stuff

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 January 2023 17:33 (one year ago) link

klopp basically gets a free pass from me for p much anything but I do really wonder about his/the clubs fixation on buying frwd players when we p clearly have needed to construct a midfield that can protect our v attack minded defence for a couple of seasons now ( then again they were like 2 games away from winning everything just last season so what the hell do I know)

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:28 (one year ago) link

when a manager's been in post for the length of time Klopp has i think they have to take a good portion of the blame for the squad drifting into imbalance

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:30 (one year ago) link

also cos I have barely paid attention I had assumed arsenal were strolling the league cos city and lfc were regressing and I hadn't fully appreciated their p fucking outrageous points total so far. so kudos.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:31 (one year ago) link

xp
yeah fabinho really can't run now, I mean he never could but now he REALLY can't.
getting misty eyed for the much derided hendo/gini/milner days.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:33 (one year ago) link

gapko will probably be great but he seems unnecessary.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:34 (one year ago) link

also brighton are legit v good and as far as I can tell v well run, manager falling out with player spat notwithstanding.

oscar bravo, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:35 (one year ago) link

also cos I have barely paid attention I had assumed arsenal were strolling the league cos city and lfc were regressing and I hadn't fully appreciated their p fucking outrageous points total so far. so kudos.

They've only lost one league game this season... but then so have Newcastle!

A Drunk Man Looks At Partick Thistle (Tom D.), Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:36 (one year ago) link

Feel like sacking Klopp would lead to a load of other departures and put Liverpool back in rebuild mode for maybe five years or more, otoh with some luck and some good buys over the summer they could be back in contention next season, so hope he's staying.
There is of course the "selling to Qatar" question hanging over everything but trying not to think about that.

Camaraderie at Arms Length, Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:38 (one year ago) link

can't see Liverpool ditching him and if i was them i wouldn't, but he's short on excuses at the moment imo

Wyverns and gulls rule my world (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:40 (one year ago) link

They're never going to sack him.

A Drunk Man Looks At Partick Thistle (Tom D.), Saturday, 14 January 2023 20:48 (one year ago) link

the latest on my upstairs neighbour is that besides Iran and Argentina, he supports Barcelona

imago, Sunday, 15 January 2023 19:46 (one year ago) link

actually watched a whole game for a change. lloris horrendous for the first goal. arsenal were properly good first half and spurs huffed and puffed 2nd half. spurs fan who kicked ramsdale in the back at the end was as half hearted and craven about it as his team and manager. erik dier's post match interview was a study in somnolence. oh and richarlison still a wanker.

oscar bravo, Sunday, 15 January 2023 20:58 (one year ago) link

Yeah I’m not enjoying this hope

I remember when Ramsdale was the punching bag of the entire Sky commentary team, now he's a monster

imago, Sunday, 15 January 2023 21:48 (one year ago) link

Can't recall if there are any Villa fans itt but you have reason to be excited about getting Jhon Duran from Chicago. String, fast fwd with tons of potential.
