Same. While we're editing, I'll add that, and maybe We're All Going to the World's Fair, which I wasn't sure would have the same effect on rewatch but pretty much did.

I love this thread, because three movies forces folks to focus, and people like me, who don't get to see nearly as many movies a year as they'd like (but still lots!) get a better lay of the (ILX) land than I would from a, say, top 50 movies of the year list. For example, I recall reading positive reviews of "Aftersun" months ago, but I more or less forgot about it, so now it's back toward the top of my "must watch" list.

Lots still to see, of course; in terms of prioritizing what to watch, I am definitely feeling Josh’s xpost.

Decision to Leave is a really dazzling film.

visually and as an acting showcase, sure, contrivance of the narrative felt a bit hokey tho, guess it was a vehicle for the visual poetry or whatever
saw Enys Men yesterday, that might be more of a 2023 film but would be close to or at the top of my 2022 list, obv owes a lot to its UK cinema forebears (shades of Under The Skin, Penda's Fen blah blah) but also came off as a far-more-successful take on the Upstream Color slow sound-games, hopefully with a better IRL ending between director and actor as well

dunno if I mentioned this but coming back from Aftersun a dude on the tube complimented my outfit and I think it might've been because I looked like I was about to start sobbing
