Sword Shield was underwhelming in a lot of ways but its new pokemon and region specific types were great. I'm not far enough into Scarlet Violet to judge it yet but the changes/updates so far are promising.

arceus was really good, i should go back and finish it. will continue my staunch refusal to play a new mainline one though
