yesterday’s puzzle was pretty easy: 22 guesses with an accuracy of 90.91% and a time of 00:09:57.

218: You solved Redactle Unlimited in 12 guesses with 100% accuracy and a time of 00:00:37!
219: You solved Redactle Unlimited in 94 guesses with 70.21% accuracy and a time of 00:06:56! I had to arrive at this from comic books after I saw 1-4 which kind of looked like it could be X-Men, which it was.

I solved today’s game in 143 guesses with an accuracy of 66.43% and a time of 00:28:51. thought it would be really easy at the outset, a media-related thing, but that proved to be a bit of a red herring. “toy” was the breakthrough guess

took me an unreasonably long time to guess Asia yesterday, got today's in 74 after being bamboozled for ages by a company specialising in plastic injection moulding with a strong sideline in books and films.

Hahah I was stumped for a bit by todays because I was thinking "how many The ____ Movie" movie titles are there? OH WAIT" then I got it.

Kind of proud of getting this one even though I was sort of throwing spaghetti against the wall at the end. I got differential pretty quickly but when equation wasn't the second word, I was pretty much out of my depth. So that's when I just tried more general math fields.

cheated to solve Redactle Unlimited in 186 guesses with an accuracy of 66.67% and a time of 00:17:31.

other way around for me - I had “geometry” at guess 12, but yeah, I don’t know anything about that sh*t, so at some point it was tentative googling time

I solved Redactle Unlimited in 12 guesses with an accuracy of 100% and a time of 00:21:36.

21 minutes? more like 12 hours. had the first word with the second guess but finding the right eight letter word was a struggle. when analysis wasn't it (after some more obvious candidates) I was stumped.

it's not a phrase I've ever heard before despite being familiar with the individual halves

221: You solved Redactle Unlimited in 51 guesses with 64.71% accuracy and a time of 00:05:09!

Small hint: the answer is a compound word so of you have two separate words, put them together.

Rabbity Gainsborough (Leee), Sunday, 13 November 2022 17:52 (one year ago) link

Hahaaaaa this should have been way more obvious to me. I had all the things the answer is used for, but didn't think to link them.

124 guesses 49.19% accuracy. Too much time sodding about typing in various video game system and tech brand names lol

222: You solved Redactle Unlimited in 135 guesses with 71.11% accuracy and a time of 00:11:56! Had to cheat for the second word, since like a typical American, I couldn't remember the exact romanization, even though I know what it's called in Chinese!

I solved Redactle Unlimited in 96 guesses with an accuracy of 91.67% and a time of 00:28:21.

got there very quickly, but got stuck on the *fourth* word. thought it was about the crackdown itself because of the focus on June 4, so I couldn’t get an immediate match and went for filling out the blanks instead.

that it would be a China-related item was clear from the “**’An” giveaways in the text. thought it would be about the Terracotta Army at first!

So I would have had the answer in 30 guesses, but I spelt the main title piece wrong and was baffled why it wasnt included given all the other stuff coming up... turns out I'd typoed it grr.

Got it in 62 guesses 61.19% accuracy

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Tuesday, 15 November 2022 00:12 (one year ago) link

cheated on the last word after 70 guesses (including three attempts plus typo to spell it right and about 15 guesses for the year, I'm bad with dates ok)

ledge, Tuesday, 15 November 2022 08:28 (one year ago) link

Well, this one is a bastard to do. Needless to say I had to do some googling.

Same.

Rabbity Gainsborough (Leee), Tuesday, 15 November 2022 18:41 (one year ago) link

took me 50 guesses to figure out what it was about, then guessed the other three types then, yep, gave up.

ledge, Tuesday, 15 November 2022 20:55 (one year ago) link

same here. took me ages, seemingly like longer than in any previous puzzle, to even get an inkling what this could be about. finally got to type of tissue, and then had to start googling

all in all, 253 guesses with an accuracy of 44.27% and a time of 00:47:56.

Last night I dreamt that adjective was too easy so the answer had changed to adjectification (the act of turning nouns into adjectives i guess!). Maybe I need a break from the game!

wow, that was unexpected. it seemed like the text said the word was derived from a Latin word meaning ‘birth’ and so, working from the root I was familiar with, I thought maybe ******?, although I had never been aware of that etymology before. and eh… bingo!

big movers, hot steppers + long shaker intros (breastcrawl), Friday, 18 November 2022 18:03 (one year ago) link

Good work, I lucked into it to after 15 though in a less highbrow fashion - had a lot of hits for ------- world, *****al world seemed likely so I just entered the noun form.

I solved today's Redactle (#229) in 69 guesses with an accuracy of 75.36%.
Europe at #8, European at #11, then I twiddled around with economic and financial stuff until hitting bank at #67 and investment at #69. I did not know that such a body existed - and I used to do IT for investment banks, which shows you how much I was paying attention...

Not so easy for this American: I needed till 150 to get "bank", as I kept thinking that it was a skyscraper or something. Then I got European, but had no clue on the middle word, so I actually ended up brute-forcing my way to figuring out that the acronym is EIB.
