Poole 4/140 extension
― Spottie, Saturday, 15 October 2022 18:31 (one year ago) link
that's a lot of cash. apparently $17m of it is non-guaranteed and some of that is "unlikely incentives"

*win mvp $50M*do a double backflip dunk on giannis in game $5M*eat the bigass steak in texas in one sitting $500k

Apparently the warriors luxury tax bill next season will be 400 million dollars? That seems like a lot. I would try to pay less than that
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 15 October 2022 21:59 (one year ago) link
Yolo
― Spottie, Saturday, 15 October 2022 22:07 (one year ago) link
if 400 million dollars seems like a lot to you well maybe you're just not a true player
― Clay, Saturday, 15 October 2022 22:16 (one year ago) link
I guess it would make you popular with other owners
― Matt Armstrong, Saturday, 15 October 2022 22:24 (one year ago) link
The owners started groaning about it last season. Idk kinda sad they drafted all these dudes and can’t hold onto them without massive penalties
― Spottie, Saturday, 15 October 2022 22:36 (one year ago) link
lolllll noooooo spottie "boo hoo the warriors are being punished for being too good" yes thats why salary caps and luxury taxes exist!!!!!!

Yet while this prospect of landing the Pacers’ Buddy Hield and/or center Myles Turner in a Westbrook-centric deal had loomed for months, there was a strong desire from some Lakers officials to see Westbrook play in Ham’s system before making that sort of monumental decision.

the monumental decision of getting rid of the player most likely to sink your team while you have lebron james and anthony davis in a wide-open league

new wembanyama just dropped
Outstanding debut for 17-year old Aday Mara in the Spanish @ACBCOM. 8 points, 4 rebounds in 19 minutes against Euroleague team Baskonia. The skilled 7'3 center with a 7'6 wingspan is one of the most promising prospects in Europe. pic.twitter.com/gxPSMFwONp— Jonathan Givony (@DraftExpress) October 17, 2022

it is cute.
scoot is a GREAT athlete name.

Steve Ballmer has wanted to put Clippers games on a streaming service for years. Now he has one, ClipperVision, and 74 of the team’s 82 games will be broadcast there. I watched a test broadcast.“This is our channel,” he said. https://t.co/b1FwoPwqYU— Andrew Greif (@AndrewGreif) October 17, 2022

since it was announced by the agents i wonder how much of that money is in “unlikely guarantees”
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:15 (one year ago) link
the NBA shifting towards NFL style contract announcements of fake numbers to make agents and players look better is not pleasing to me
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:16 (one year ago) link
think they can only do 15% max in incentives, anyway is there any evidence hes a good player
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:18 (one year ago) link
that will be an overpay if hunter is who he’s mostly been the last few years (not a good player and always hurt) but won’t be if he’s the player he’s been in flashes. also if the cap dynamics change the way everyone is saying then it prob won’t be an overpay either way but after the received wisdom of the cap spike year turned out to be disastrously wrong for just about every single contract signed that summer i’m not taking this stuff about the new CBA on blind faith
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:19 (one year ago) link
hunter reminds me of RJ barrett where even when he’s having great games it just don’t feel like he has a dominant gear he can shift tohe did average 21 ppg on 56/46/80 shooting in round 1 last playoffs but it did feel like he was on a bit of a heater. he also doesn’t do anything else with the ball (4 rpg and an assist to TO ratio that was way underwater)
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:23 (one year ago) link
if he had been drafted 11th or whatever they wouldnt be giving him this deal, throwing good money after bad
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:24 (one year ago) link
totally forgot they traded up to get him lol, perfect guy to wait til 8th to see if hes still there
The Hawks traded up to acquire Hunter in the draft, making a deal with the Pelicans to move up from the eighth pick to the fourth selection to grab the former University of Virginia star.

you dont see the celtics throwing big money at grant williams no theyre saying hey buddy youve been great take this midlevel type deal, or at least i assume thats what theyre doing since they didnt agree to an extension lol
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:41 (one year ago) link
they're pretty fucked if he just stays this bad so i guess you roll the dice on him getting good and earning this, but it's just annoying that he has never like, done anything of note
― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 18 October 2022 00:42 (one year ago) link
this is how you deal with guys who have been pretty good okay nothing that special
No rookie extension deals for Phoenix's Cam Johnson, Charlotte's P.J. Washington or Boston's Grant Williams -- all headed to restricted free agency next summer, sources tell ESPN.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) October 17, 2022

yeah the idea of him getting much more than that extension is a fantasy, at his absolute best he's a high-end role player

this looks ridiculous to me when you throw hunter's extension in there but i guess atlanta has talked themselves into thinking they're realass contenders
