1 celtics - just lost their loser head coach, injuries hitting already, roster has additional injury-prone players (brogdon, d white)
2 nets - kyrie's presence alone makes them perennial bad vibes contenders, but add surly kd and ben figuring out if he LIKE likes basketball with overwhelmed hs teacher vibes nash on the bench and it looks rough
3 suns - vibes are way the fuck off, though sarver is at the heart of a lot of them and he's on his way out
4 hornets - bridges is garbage but lamelo coming out and saying he hopes he comes back is a fuckin red flag, feel like any jordan-owned franchise is gonna be in this bad vibes zone
5 magic - jonathan isaac played a half hour in this decade, has not played an NBA minute during the biden administration (dark brandon working HIS magic), markelle fultz hurt AGAIN, just a franchise riddled with injuries
6 lakers - bron is old af, westbrook and pat bev on the same team, AD is playing with a chip on his shoulder (out 4-6 weeks due to chip injury), that bench looks really suspect, new coach, just so many ways this can go south
7 knicks - feels like i shouldn't have to explain this, but suffice to say i dont think brunson makes them instant playoff favorites
8 mavs - front office has been a wreck, christian wood is talented but probably a locker room cancer, fuck jason kidd who is bad vibes at all times, higher expectations after sneaking into the 3rd round could get toxic fast
9 sixers - doc was horny online, harden is harden, tampering for old ass vets doesnt usually pay off bc hoops god gets vengeful (see: lowry in miami)
10 portland - kind of a wild card here bc i cant tell if theyre good or not, if they come out the gate rough, all the dame trade rumors would heat back up

you know i hadnt thought much abt chicago bc i felt like ppl were p cool with how they did last year. but this could def go south quick, they overachieved early last year and then slinked down the standings and regressed to their mean, but a lot of the season ppl were like "dont sleep on chicago, is demar an mvp candidate???" if they come out mid af which i think they will, there could be vibe adjustments.

surely the returning champs have to be up there.

bucks vibes will usually always been above avg as long as giannis is there and locked in.

cavs vibes seem to be real good but they could go south with donovan clearly not wanting to be in cleveland vs new york where he thought he was going.

pistons have something to look forward to, pretty good vibes i think.

grizzlies had a weird offseason ja is doing too much these days, jjj is eternally hurt and/or not good.

biggest possible vibe jump is the pelicans. but it could go sour any second with zion wanting out and/or gaining weight.

wolves had a good thing going but ant is now on rep damage control and the innocent 'the kid' facade is over. plus kat is just a weirdo

i think things got pretty bleak there in the final few months of the season and only seem worse now that the cavs and hawks are a clear tier above them on paper & lonzo still can't even run w/o pain. if they don't make the playoffs or only get out of the play in before getting annihilated they're gonna be in that deathly middle of not being anywhere near contention or a top 3 pick. and if the magic start to do well it's gonna be even worse. i feel like their GM could low key be out of a job in 2 years or less

yeah these two have to be strong faves to meet in da finals, so far as such things are possible before any basketball has been played, they have the vibes the personnel and the experience

biggest concern is prob theyre both getting a lil old

yeah but poole ascension is breathing new life. and hopefully one or two of moody/kuminga/wiseman will take a leap this year. the potential drama lies in draymond, poole and wiggins contracts/extensions and not being able to pay everyone what theyre worth

bucks still pretty squarely in their primes. jrue and middleton nearing the back end of their primes tho yeah.

yeah neither team is genuinely old theyre just in that zone where theres a somewhat greater chance of injury or defensive slippage, dubs young guys are a wildcard for sure, the possibility of wiggins turning back into a pumpkin maybe too idk, but basically youre left to speculation trying to come up with problems for either team

thinking about it i guess if i had a major concern for the dubs it would be draymond, he looeds genuinely awful at times last year hes a guy who everyone kinda thought his game wouldnt age well and hes got the contract situation

maybe its time, to trade him to charlotte
