i am calling it, "one sunday morning" is gonna win this poll

I left Mermaid songs off my ballot because I had a hard enough time fitting in some of Jeff's Loose Fur & Uncle Tupelo tracks without bringing Woody's lyrics into that equation.

The Whole Love is the artier older brother to Summerteeth. "Dawned on Me" is a lock. Bunch of others I'm considering.

I will die on any hill for the song “Whole Love” as well. Something about the production just gets me. As far as the upbeat tracks on that album, not a fan of “Dawned on Me”, a little too hooky and singsongy. I do enjoy “Born Alone” though and I think I’m in the minority in digging “I Might”.

All of that being said, The Whole Love is not sniffing my albums ballot. I feel like for this poll 5 is too small a number, having to make some painful choices…

I hope all of you are revisiting A.M. Has a few of my favorite Tweedy songs of all time. "That's Not the Issue" will be very high on my ballot.

My two favourite Mermaid Avenue tracks are Birds & Ships (no Tweedy) and The Unwelcome Guest (barely any Tweedy). Will probably vote for California Stars, At My Window and Remember the Mountain Bed.

as far as TWL goes beyond the bookends, "whole love" might have a chance of squeezing into my ballot. "black moon" is quite nice for sure but it's not enough of a standout to have a chance of making my ballot or anything

does anyone have any non-album track recommendations? i've listened to most of what i can find & i don't think i'll vote for any - best is "kicking television" and some of the yhf-era rarities like "cars can't escape", "the good part" "a magazine called sunset", "more like the moon"

if I actually get my ballot done in time, "Woodgrain" will be on it, and Being There outtakes "No Poetry" and "Blasting Fonda" are contenders for me as well

Partially? As far as I can tell, it’s been pushed back two weeks to the 30th, for both the physical versions and the digital release (at least according to the bandcamp page).

Trying to piece together my ballot, but not sure I’ll have it done in time. This was a lot tougher than I anticipated and just refreshing myself with the track lists of albums I haven’t heard recently proved insufficient.

Saw a little drama on another forum from people who pre-ordered the YHF box straight from Wilco for $120 when it is only $70 on Amazon right now, particularly since Wilco is charging a 5% cancellation fee.

If we need to extend voting by a week or two to get more ballots, let me know.

re: non-album tracks, "The Thanks I Get" is one of those incredibly simple Tweedy songs that is a joy to hear performed live.

dang, i sent in my ballot before really giving that one a chance. i did really like the first loose fur album, which i hadn't listened to until this poll. laminated cat and you were wrong are both high up on my ballot, and wouldn't have been before

the rest of the album is a bit less interesting than the first, but "wreckroom" is immense and going to be up there on my ballot

I listened to the first Golden Smog album last night for the first time in ages and couldn't believe how many hits there were. Much more power pop/alternative rock than alt-country, as I had misremembered. Going to give Another Fine Day a spin today.

Also, I would politely ask that as many people submit a 3rd ballot as possible, even if you have limited knowledge of the various side projects! We have only received 1.5 so far, and I'd hate to have to scrap that one for lack of votes.

I know there are bands called On Fillmore and The Autumn Defense though I can't even remember which band members are in them. What's Nels Cline's other best stuff? the b-side i ended up including in my ballot was "panthers." tbh as i get older i seem to only get more fond of the ghost is born material. has a sense of space (maybe the off-white psychic echo of a migraine?) that i can't say i've heard in any other record

record reminds me of the more ramshackle end of lindsey buckingham productions where every sonic element sounds faxed in from elsewhere. i love it

finally i think the alternate version of "hummingbird" is better than the album version but i feel like i understand why they went for the album arrangement, it's a welcome break in the tension

i do recall at the time that "less than you think" was widely interpreted as a sonic representation of tweedy's migraines
