i've grown to like a lot of hyperpop but i still do not buy what 100 gecs sells

there's not much redeeming about "money machine" imo. annoying music designed to appeal to annoying people.

From today’s run I voted for FKA Twigs, Charlotte Adigery, Pachanga Boys and Destroyer.

I don’t get 100gecs but I don’t mind that sort of memecore or whatever they call that sort of sound getting a mention on a 2010s countdown

From today, Frank Ocean and SVIIB we're in the ranked portion of my ballot. Happy I could help push them higher up. Voted for Charlotte Adigéry in the unranked portion.

Maybe FKA Twigs too. Seems like I'd have voted for her as well.

Like everything she does, "High Lights" is ridiculously cool.

"Work" was top 10 on my ballot and still sounds so fresh to my ears.

Didn’t know that SVIIB song was that well liked on ILM. Would have considered voting for it. Was obsessed with it back then and that whole brand of synth-y shoegaze / dreampop revival at the beginning of the decade

From the 2010 rollout:

"I L U" is probably the most emotional a song made me get all last year. The "I loved you" line is so much better than "I love you" would be.

After averaging three per day I only got two today, tho some others were on my expanded list

My Daft Punk dilemma regarding "Get Lucky." I was not going to vote for it but since I ran the DP poll this year I felt a duty to place it.

Looking over the results, so far, I see I'm part of the problem.

i'd never heard "Time" (Pachanga Boys) before the poll and holy shit what a track.

Just don't look up the other songs on that single.

money machine was my #4 and thrilled to be annoying enough to enjoy it. For me it's such an emblematic bookend between the decades; really feels equally the last song of the 10s and the first of the 20s.
