i don’t really think that the fact that they’re not together anymore hurts the song. there are hints throughout the song that they have a very passionate, rocky kind of love that doesn’t make sense to a lot of people on their lives

it encapsulates that blurry line between lustful infatuation and a lasting kind of love, and how one can often be confused for the other

"don't start now" is fine, not best of decade material imo. i do think it's cool that the big hook is in the pre-chorus, not the chorus

do i agree with the me of 9.5 years ago

probably on this listen-through i'm more willing to let the midsection of the track do its thing as a means to an end, the vocals are very slowly building to something

Having this as a favourite tune, and the walk home from the pub being the exact same length has certainly helped up it for me

yeah this listen through i recant the idea that it sags in the middle, the best thing about it is clearly that build-up to about 10-12 minutes in

Haven't thought about "Time" in, well, a long time, but it really is a perfect encapsulation of the post-peak-Kompakt sound.

I'm listening to The Vile Stuff and chuckling at the parallel with Swimming Pools (Drank) which sounds considerably more errr... mystical and disembodied, and definitely won't place (since we're still doing a psychanalysis of ILM before the top 50... joking, we're continuing until the post-mortem).

Oh wow I wasn't sure if this particular SVIIVB song had a dedicated fan base, so I made it my #1 to give it all the help I could. No regrets.

i thought "thinkin bout you" was overrated for years but one night it caught me while i was feeling v vulnerable following a messy split and it got me bawling in my car
