I remember at some time in the 90's watching Romy and Michele's High School Reunion high on drugs and it clicking in a pre-imdb manner that her dad was the legendary "Vinnie, don't put too many onions in the sauce" guy in Goodfellas. RIP

Bad run for fictional gangsters period: Liotta, Caan, Tony Sirico (Paulie on The Sopranos), now Sorvino. Something I learned form the Sopranos book I'm reading: Sorvino refused to appear on the show because of its portrayal of Italian-Americans...which is weird. (He had his own sitcom on the air at the time, with a wholesome Italian-American family.)

(After he turned them down, I hope he finished with "Now I gotta turn my back.")

Davis calls him the “last of the great honkers “ referring to that 40s & 50s era of squawking jump blues horn players.
