The inflation from Gobert trade has got to cool off sooner than later, right? If asking prices for players oriented around that price end up stifling the trade market, the askers are going to have to start lowering their prices right? Unless it's all a game of chicken and some idiot GM caves.

it will cool off but it might take time. there was a point in time where no one thought a team would ever give up something like the nets package for pierce/garnett again. these things always cycle.

if jaylen brown was actually on the table for KD that trade would already be done imo. there’s no way the nets are doing better than that if what they want back is an established player

the crazy thing is if the nets could get jaylen for KD they should do it in a heartbeat. they aren’t winning the title with him, the dream is over, if you can get a player of jaylen’s caliber plus whatever else would be in the deal for him that would be a pretty amazing recovery

its funny how the nets are the most obvious candidate for rebuilding except they cant cause they traded all their picks

owners need to extend their rule so that you cant trade pick swaps on off years

jaylen and simmons would actually be something to build off of. i would feel bad for jaylen but the nets could actually reload without having to stink for 3-5 years again

maybe i’m just too shook by KD’s performance in the nets series but i’m not convinced swapping jaylen for him meaningfully increases their title odds at the cost of the rest of jaylen’s career

jaylen has two years left on his deal and if they feel like he might be a risk to leave then flipping him for KD would be entirely defensible… i wonder if they’ve had any convos with his agent about an extension

thats def an issue cause he can get a bigger deal if he becomes a free agent than if he extends is my understanding which obvs makes the extension much less likely

yeah making a panic move would be very un-cleticsy here i think. adding brogdon seems like the right move and everyone else on that team should be getting better next season outside of horford/gazelle

brogdons a great add for sure i like the team and think they should run it back, pick up whatever bench guy they need at the deadline, now that theyve proven they can make a deep run they really need to limit starters regular season minutes, they were so fucking cashed by the finals
