i'm looking at this. the bronze statue of Dizang goes by, I can tell from the adjacent statues that the staff the figure carries "doesn't count". it's the top of his head. ok.

but yet, when The Motherland Calls, suddenly the top of the sword is the line of measurement. now wait one god damn minute

I'd say the pedestal might not count, but then a certain green lady shows up.

Yeah, it's a cool video but the measurements are weird. I was under the impression that the standard way of measuring statue height is to include staffs (staves?) etc but to not count pedestals - I get that would prob spoil the aesthetic of such a video, but not convinced that they've got things right the way they've done it.

Also, I somehow missed that Bolivia ripped off Christ the Redeemer and made a bigger one, and then (not included in that video) Poland ripped them both off and made an even bigger one again!
