Yeah that was a bit of a gut check moment. Dear oh dear.

A little delayed but Drag Race España ended about where I figured it would -- Sharonne was an awesome competitor, but Estrella Xtravaganza was a hell of a season narrator (you always need a really good one) and I wouldn't be surprised if she's the real breakout star.

Why aren’t any of the judges allowed to give any actual critique this season??

i think the lack of critique is theoretically bc its the winners season - like they all already won so this is gravy? i guess?

It was strange that Trinity and Raja seemed to get by far the strongest praise from the judges, but in the end the producers just really wanted Vivienne to revenge block Jinkx.

Shea robbed this week.

Her runway probably destroyed any chance she had. I mean, what happened ? She is usually so polished and perfect, but that wig and that outfit were not even close.

The outfit I was willing to give her when they put the side-by-side up ... but that wig wasn't within a (ahem) country mile of a Dolly coif.

Bob said on Pit Stop - you have to play the hits for this kind of runway. I agree sort of but I kinda liked that Shea went to that look. I just think it was understyled/under-padded maybe & definitely she needed more hair

the fit in the pants was not great

The relentlessly positive judging really annoyed me this week. In a normal episode, they would have dragged Jinkx for a corset with a bit of net stuck on it, which didn't reference the original outfit one bit. And they would've remarked that both Trinity and Viv did the exact same silhouette they always do. And that Shea obviously ran out of time and just wore leggings and a bit of a ruffle and a headscarf. I mean, I liked the outfit, but that was not her original intention at all.

Jesus, that was painful.

Runway ruled. Whatever else is happening, that’s produced some stunners.

Drag Race France off to an engaging start, I thought. Nicky’s a pretty good host!

Runway was amazing. The first time ever I have taken screenshots to study further later on. I could knit some of those things.

now THAT was a fuckin lipsync

Haven't done anything quite like that since the Untucked lipsync competition in season 5 I think.

Maybe it's just the heat, but some of those workroom outfits just look so fab and comfortable. The outfit Raja had on just after they de-dragged at the start of the episode just looked like the coolest, most easy gar-mahnt I've ever seen.

Well deserved, that relaxation. Fun episode.

New Canada season seems promising!

forgot to post my thoughts on the roast ep:

- wintergreen!! it was great to have her back
- a roast is not the same as the library, and a lot of the jokes were more like library reads
- the lighting for the runway was weird and didn't do justice to most of the outfits

the new canada season seems underwhelming so far, the hosting is just as horrible as the first 2 seasons (it's like double the pretentiousness of the original but without any of the charm) and i'm disappointed with whom they sent home first.

loved what we could see of the runway, unbelievable outfits & creativity my god

challenge was v good, love a good roast & i kinda thought viv wouldve won outright or at least got second place

on the lipsync i am aligned with willam on the race chaser pod, it was bad, i wouldnt tip i would send an invoice and that jinx looked like “a teenage bette davis in the crucible”

Yeah, the lipsync was awful. But as soon as one queen started getting into another's airspace, it was obvious who was going to win.

the “twist” was one of the most rigor morrs things in the history of drag race. why couldn’t they at least make it slightly more interesting? like giving 2 stars and having a lipsync and the winner gets another star and breaks the tie? it pretty much erased the work from the previous episodes.

although not a big deal really as i learned to treat this season as a showcase and not a competition, and it’s been a really joyful season at that.

I called the three stars before Ru said it. What I thought was really unfair to everyone involved was having Monét choose the last finalist on the spot. It really feels like a game rather than a competition at this point and even though the prize money is higher than it's ever been, the stakes don't feel that important.

if they gave just 1 star in the last ep with the same winners the final four would be:
jinx, trinity, monet and jaida

if there was no blocking and no handing out extra stars (so just actual wins) the final four would be:
jinx, trinity, monet and the vivienne

(which explains the vivienne not looking very happy there at the end)

the finale was somewhat anticlimactic but it was nice to have a chance to see these queens lipsyncing against each other, and the rightful queen won

Yeah to my mind that was the real emotional highlight of the week in Drag Race. Unexpected but I felt that.

Perfectly happy with the All Stars winners but yeah the journey was better than the end for this series. Still, fun to see it all!

Vanjie on Canada was fun. Brooke still not quite human but seems a little looser.

I’m really irritated about my favourite going home in week two of Canada’s Drag Race. She got hosed!

Unsurprisingly Race Chaser's been perfect listening for going over the finale.

Yes I find myself lately quite confused what series I’ve been watching or is airing; between all stars, regular, Canada and France (in honour of our quebecois brethren) I just watch a constant stream of drag without really ever knowing what’s going on

I only watch the ones that RuPaul hosts, because otherwise I spend so much time reading the subtitles that I don't get a good look at the lewks (please forgive me), and I didn't really like the first season of Canada. Also, like Veg, I just have other things in my life. But I have to have WOW+ even to see the "core" shows. The subscription is also worth it for the non-bleeped editions of UNNNnnh.

This last point is urgent and key.

I love it so much.
