Will Paul Mason please explain why he’s creating Nixonian hit lists of “targets” to “permanently rebut”, including the Black community, Muslims, and Trade Unions?

Surely this should impact his prospective candidacy as a Labour MP? @paulmasonnews @AaronBastani pic.twitter.com/G6N4ybfAjk

— Women for Wes (@Women4Wes) June 5, 2022

Mason's loopy map of the UK left, that apparently he emailed to a bbc journo, is possibly more evidence of his McCarthyite derangement and depending on how seriously you take it absolutely racist as well.

Mason proposes law fare, PR stunts, stings, shadow bans, denial of PayPal usage & more to silence these which includes MPs

He's flipped.

That looks bonkers.

Is that diagram really something that PM created and shared? Not clear.

apparently there has been some leaked PM emails and he's blocking people who are commenting on them and hasn't issued any kind of denial .. but I haven't seen them

apart from the one I linked above

GN seems to think that ejecting the current PM would lead to the Con government 'starting afresh with energy and decency'.

Do the right thing @Conservatives MP’s. He degrades our nation and highest office. He’s a liar and the British people have no faith in him at all. Let’s start afresh with energy and decency to tackle major issues on health, education, climate change and the cost of living 🙌

the pinefox, Monday, 6 June 2022 11:26 (one year ago) link

I much prefer low energy Tory governments, why on earth would you want a driven one that's in a hurry to achieve their aims?

calzino, Monday, 6 June 2022 11:53 (one year ago) link

The people who talked about it were branded as IRA loving terrorists.

What is most striking about UK politics seen from afar is the impression (accurate?) of near-zero discussion about the long term direction of the country. Just never-ending Westminster soap opera, empty positioning where policies and ideas should be, politics consuming itself.

some say this immunizes johnson from another VONC after what look to be miserable by-election results for the tories

then again theresa may won her VONC but was forced out soon after anyway

You're saying Rory is as bad as Johnson? How about a 10-foot tall Rory hologram that intermittently glitches and renders him three feet tall?

It's only a day since they were insisting there wouldn't be the requisite number of no-confidence letters to force a vote, now nearly 100 extra MPs have voted no confidence in him. The question will keep coming back to him: "why should anyone trust you / vote for you, when nearly half of your own MPs don't?"

Nasty, Brutish & Short, Monday, 6 June 2022 21:13 (one year ago) link

That didn’t work with his brother. He’ll continue taking damage until he’s outlived his usefulness but they have nobody like him who’s quite so powerful in that regard.

The new Tories got their tantrum out; they can say they tried to remove him and Johnson limps on as inflation hits 10% and God knows what else.

Liquidation is the only good result for that lot and this ain't it.

xyzzzz__, Monday, 6 June 2022 21:51 (one year ago) link

I think the only material effect is the backbenchers now know for sure the size of the rebellion (eg much bigger than the parly majority) which means he has to start running actual legislating a bit more like a minority government (by pandering (more than usual) to their whims and pet policies).

stet, Monday, 6 June 2022 22:26 (one year ago) link

See, with Trump he had to lose to be vanquished. Impeachment would only have justified his self proclaimed innocence.

Whereas Johnson wants to be defeated at an election (he'd prefer to win, obviously) but actually being voted down by his own 'people' would vanquish him more.

Mark G, Monday, 6 June 2022 22:45 (one year ago) link

he can take some inspiration from the allotment man who lost a VONC by 172 to 40 and still managed to carry on and almost win an election with most of his party actively trying to sabotage the campaign.

Russian hack-and-leak operation

Last week I was informed of an attempt to hack my secure email account. I am not certain if the attack was successful, but an individual associated with Russian state media has circulated content purporting to be from me, which may be edited, distorted or fake.

lol Mason doesn't sound very certain in this non-denial if leaked emails were actually edited or fake. Perhaps compare and contrast with what's in the sent folder and confirm it.

calzino, Tuesday, 7 June 2022 20:43 (one year ago) link

Very revealing on the goings on at You gov and polling orgs.

We looked at everything to try and work out why this was happening. One theory was that Corbyn supporters had mass joined the panel (despite the checks we have on such things happening) and were playing the system to get the Labour numbers up.

Paul Mason is now blaming allegations about his own paranoia and conspiracy thinking on ... a conspiracy of Russian hackers?

the pinefox, Wednesday, 8 June 2022 11:07 (one year ago) link

ProtonMail claims to be secure, and safe from hackers, but my experience, **as a paid user, no less**, shows that any ProtonMail account is less than secure, as any script kiddie with an off-the-shelf attack script can make your ProtonMail account unusable for up to 5 days at a time. Potentially, an attacker can also TAKE OVER A PROTONMAIL ACCOUNT.

this is someone posting about the super secure encrypted email PM uses, no wonder it took an intervention from Putin himself (who is no doubt very concerned about Mason) and him assigning his best team of FSB hackers on the job to get the results!
