The BBC programme that Calzino refers to is actually quite sinister. My understanding is that the journalist involved has tried to get one of the people interviewed / challenged on the programme (a socialist media analyst) fired from his job. It seems that Mason has been involved with this, certainly seems to have approved of it.

In other words it's going beyond knockabout allegations, let alone the free exchange of ideas, into a level more like McCarthyism.

I'd not read that background story to the program, the journalist who did it is also an old work colleague of Mason's from his ch 4 News days.

It's one thing being concerned about mostly insignificant people clicking like on Russian state affiliated media posts. But Mason with his biggish media platform accusing rando lefties of being Putin apologists is not good. Although one of the college lecturers featured on the program was an anti vaxer.
