I can't help it and love this song. It does seem to be one of those songs that people either love or hate.

I didn't hate it, just thought it was "trying too hard"... I would choose "Sex and Candy" over this one (they sort of go together in my mind).

i saw him open for Robyn Hitchcock 12 or so years ago, he had some nice tunes and sang harmony during some of Robyn's set. Also met him years later at a book swap at a bar, iirc he brought several Philip Roth books.

yeah, i regretted my wording as soon as i hit submit. i meant it's a good hate watch for folks like me who can't stand this song. todd is charming and informative, as always.

At a party the other night, we did karaoke to both “Flagpole Sitta” and “Sex and Candy” (neither was my choice). They were both pretty fun!
