Chappelle's monologue was filled with anti-semitic hints, winks and nods. He strongly implied that it was racist for Adidas to pull out of their relationship with (Kan)ye because it took wealth and power away from a black man and that fact by itself was evidence of its inherent racism. He also implied that (Kan)ye was only guilty of indiscretion and should have known better than to directly challenge the real power structure (hint: it's full of jews).

the rumor was that some of the writing staff stayed out for the week in protest, hence the longer monologue. I didn't see MOlly Kearny in the episode at all (but she's a featured player and hence not always there anyway). I feel like he was in most of the sketches though? the one where he had Mikey Day do his character was great.

Kearny was in the last bit with the three wannabe Lonely Island writers

transphobia and trans issues weren't mentioned once. there was an extended piece in the monologue that to my mind wasn't antisemitic, he just pointed out that lots of jewish people do work in hollywood, but if you are not mentally well or something is wrong with you, you start to draw conspiratorial lines and scapegoat people.

Iirc all his past recent hosting gigs had long monologues. In fact, I think most stand-up comedians (like Mulaney or CK) often have long or longer monologues when they host.

no, that's not what i'm saying.

My understanding of what he said was that he believes mentally ill people can be conspiratorial and then unfairly blame groups of people for their perceived ills. I may have misunderstood him, but that was my takeaway.

and not only mentally ill people, I think he may have also implied that Kyrie Irving is dumb.

He tried to play both sides of the street by keeping his verbiage vague and teasing, but it was very clear that all the strongest signals were in complete solidarity with (Kan)ye and Kyrie Irving. It was all very wink-wink but his clear message was "we black people SEE how racist the jews are, but you all can't see it because you're white".

i watched it in real time. it was antisemitic. he tried to be all slick "oh im much smarter than the audience" in his dumb smug way and also he had a dumb brand new leather jacket that looked stupid. he's dumb. at least he wasn't doing the dumb i smoke where cigarettes where most people can't power move thing.
