In my book, the only albums of AOTY calibre here are Newsom, Kanye and Big Boi.
Others: Warpaint, Luisa Maita, Tulipa Ruiz

There are quite a few that I like but nothing is screaming out for my vote here. Going to vote for [i[Contra[/i] just over New Amerykah, Pt. 2 (Return of the Ankh) and Body Talk.

What happened with Deerhunter? I loved Monomania but I felt like the press and maybe a lot of fans suddenly became lukewarm towards them from that album on.

A number of my favorite albums from the decade -- Four Tet, Robyn, Beach House. Teen Dream takes it though.

I've never heard most of these. (Surprise!) Don't really like nu-Swans, and the Badu is a slightly less good follow-up to an amazing record, so this is either gonna be Diddy or Gil Scott-Heron for me.

I've loved all of the Beach House records but think Teen Dream was their best

Halcyon Digest felt like the best Deerhunter album too, although Microcastle/Weird Era Continued from 2008 was also great

I *want* to love New Amerykah part 2 but it feels like it falls off in its second half :/

I thought High Violet was the National's best album, and How I Got Over is still one of the Roots' best albums - too bad they got no votes, but the competition was too much.

i appreciate "incense"'s decisive break toward jazz fusion, harp and vocals painted stroke by stroke, the right way to transition into "out my mind" imo

I actually voted for that Roots album that year.

My top ten would probably have (in no particular order) Deerhunter, Robyn, Kanye, Big Boi, Arcade Fire, Janelle Monáe, LCD Soundsystem, the National, the Roots and MGMT...but I feel like there's at least two or three other albums I'd want to include that aren't in that poll.
