Zing Touch: ILX now ON IPHONE (and ipod tooches too)

I had that. Logging out of Zing and in again helped, though it still doesn’t seem to be syncing bookmarks between Zing and web as reliably as it was.

stet, it resolved itself on its own, without any signing out or uninstalling etc. works fine now! not sure what the issue was. thank you, tho!

has zing been delisted from the apple app store? just tried to install zing ON (new) IPHONE and can’t seem to find it anymore

Oh that’s strange, not showing for me either.

same here. funnily enough I had a problem with the app some time last month and removed it. it was still in the store then or I wouldn’t be here now (perish the thought)

Sorry about that – I need to pay Apple yearly to stay on the store, and they had an expired credit card on file. Should be back shortly!

Not exactly urgent, but I am finding that the latest version of this app crashes when I am reading a message and tilt it to landscape. I’m on iOS 16.3.1.

It’s been like that for years, for me.

Any chance the dark mode could be tied to the system setting? The number of phones without that feature must be pretty small now.

Love this app and have a feature request:
In-app toggle to lock orientation - I don't think I'll ever use landscape mode on my phone.

I've put it on the list, but while you wait this is pretty easy to automate with Shortcuts. Just make a new Automation that sets orientation lock on every time Zing opens (and another one that disables it when Zing closes). Ok now I type it out that sounds cumbersome, but it's pretty easy!

Dear stet, I thought I had asked about this but I can’t see that I did in any of the zing threads so ignore me if I’ve brought it up before and you said no.

Is there any chance of a function to hide certain thread titles from sna? If not no problem, but not sure how doable it would be

I have in fact built this - but to make room for a button to do it, I then did the thing you’re supposed to not do and bundled it with another change (an in-line composer) which is turning out to be bloody tricky and is making the whole thing take ages. I’ll try and hurry up.

Has this 24 hour time stamp thing always been there? I thought it was just the date

Been there a good while, but I'm only just realising that this is not at all helpful for US folks. I'll see if I can localise it

Probably just personal preference, but I'd love the dark mode to use actual black as the background. Sometimes I read ILX when I can't sleep and it would be great to emit less light and not disturb my partner. I already have brightness at the lowest and even the "darken white point" accessibility setting engaged.

What would be great is if it could be dynamic based on system settings…

I’m in the US and 24 hour timestamps are fine

It now works with whatever your “Use 24-hour clock” setting is in system settings, it’s not based on where you are.

Also you can remove accidental bookmarks straight from the app which rules

Calstars: the double SNA is a bug, fastest way to fix will be to reinstall.

I’ll be bringing back the formatting tools for sure - they just didn’t make the cut for this release

at first this annoyed me bcz the post button looked like it was a button saying you can now upload images to dedicated ilx hosting

but once I figured it out I decided the no worky is just a new poxy fule (in terms of in-crowd) and should stay for 8-19 years
