I solved Semantle #91 in 136 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 11.96. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #8. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 16.43.

100 more than yesterday! I think I was hindered by my first Green, 'yard', being a mere sliver of a green and one with multiple meanings. But yeah, once I twigged it was a sport one I cycled through a ton of related guesses.

I solved Semantle #91 in 267 guesses with 3 hints. My first guess had a similarity of 6.42. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #96. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 59.92 (997/1000).

It wasn't necessarily a sport one. I had 'vile' at guess #130 which is more or less a synonym of the target word, but I still didn't try the target word for another 140 guesses and 3 hints.

77. highest green before I really got on the right track was game, also had football and when I started thinking about the american version I quickly got it.

The sport angle didn't come until very late with blitz at guess 214 (and I was still thinking "war"). It was the dual lines of blitz/attack and vile/vulgar which finally got me there.

got it in 54, no idea how. was fruitlessly pursuing words related to 'love' at #611, got a lower green with 'relationship', without much hope tried 'joint', #991, got it next guess.

semantle seems to be using a different language for the closest words: gether(#999 wtf), jelling (is this a u.s. spelling?), comradery, agreat. also grandads, asses, butts, tanoa, grubbies, cheesecloth, gogos, feis.

I solved Semantle #93 in 16 guesses. My first guess (word) had a similarity of 26.44. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #3 (essay, 994/1000). My penultimate guess (precis, which was too uncommon a word to be a likely solution) had a similarity of 29.68.

kinda hurts to stumble upon a top 10 word so early in the game only to flounder around for the next 12 guesses. this time I was obsessive enough to compile a list of possible guesses in a text file before deciding which ones to try out, but I don't think that helped much

And amazingly got it the very next go. I'd been pursuing a musical tangent, which obviously wasn't quite right, despite the myriad greens for the likes of song, hymn, ballad, concerto, lullaby etc

i got #93 in 81 guesses -- the variants are what made this take so long, i had poet, poetry, and poetic and then spent 20 more guesses before I returned to guessing variants -- either the words are getting easier, or it's just dumb chance that this the first time I've gotten two in a row at under 100 guesses.

ugh -- I've definitely been there before -- I feel like, as I've played this game for a bit now, that the words tend to be more common and general (or at least have more generalistic meanings) so I didn't spend time on this one guessing stuff like villanelle

was mainly thinking about receptions, entrance halls in public and residential buildings and "tent" sent me in the right direction.

Took be 134 to get a green yesterday and another few dozen to get the answer; got my first green in 34 today but it was completely misleading and i eventually solved it in 329, after a hint at 293! my first green was machine which led nowhere, after a while it looked like it was leaning towards recording technology (with a side helping of office equipment), if i'd brainstormed things you might find in a recording studio i might have got it, but the hint of 'aisles' set me on the right track.

Haven’t played this for a while - was actually amazing for productivity to take this out of the day’s schedule, it is devilish addictive. Anyway had a good first go back.

Slogged through 101 guesses. I got 'teacher' 558/1000 early on which sent me off in all the wrong directions. Interesting that grandmother and mother are way higher than grandfather and father.
