With regards to the HOF, I would, for the 72nd time on this board--I used to do it all the time with a venerated poster--differentiate between "caring" about something (emotionally involved, genuinely upset if the results don't go the way you want them to) and taking a detached interest in it.

hardcore, I have some similar feelings— recently been finding myself disgusted at people who feel the need to share everything about themselves and their opinions on the internet.
