The admission ("no buzzards here") in that insert/ad is hilarious.

Stillwater: I Reserve The Right

(Somebody on eBay has this up as I Still Reserve The Right To Rock, which is more appropriate & fitting)

That Stillwater sleeve looks like something from the 90s.

1978, released on Capricorn Records

Sorry I wasn't commenting on it being thread-worthy or not... It just looks not-of-its-time.

Agreed, it’s totally ‘90s! Even the typography

Robert Palmer - Some People Can Do What They Like

The model on the front cover, engaging Palmer in a game of strip poker, is Playboy magazine's April 1976 Playmate of the Month, Denise Michele.

A one-off 1978 release by That's That, it would seem. Local functions band if you ask me. Dorset-based? I wouldn't be surprised.

Would have been a good idea for him to put out a record of new songs on a yearly basis, but use the same title and cover design every time.

Barbara Mandrell - "Love's Ups and Downs'

earlnash, Monday, 1 August 2022 00:31 (one year ago) link

that hot air balloon combined with her outfit and the flowers look like a potential death-trap

Critique of the Goth Programme (Neil S), Monday, 1 August 2022 08:24 (one year ago) link

Hey I just realized I never reported back on that Barbara Markay "Hot Box" album. I was disappointed to find it's a solo piano comedy album without the disco band that was on the singles. It's basically a bunch of dirty showtunes with a singer who sounds like Lamb Chop. That said it's cool to own something that basically doesn't exist online. nor should it really :)

My first thoughts were Sly Stone's Heard Ya Missed Me, Well I'm Back and Andy Bown's Come Back Romance All Is Forgiven, but both have been mentioned, unlike:

Olympic Runners - Put the Music Where Your Mouth Is
Nicky Hopkins - The Tin Man Was a Dreamer
