Aw man that sucks. A real delight of recent years for me was listening to old episodes of his podcast, especially classic tv stars like Butch Patrick, or even Alan Alda. He was such a fan, and always got great stories, i loved him the most when he was in that mode. the Buscemi ep was hilarious too.

Truly a legend & an unforgettable comedic voice.

Sure is something to realize they all left this year.

This photo is very sad now. RIP Bob Saget and RIP Louie Anderson. Both good friends that will be missed. pic.twitter.com/DLJ8Ntt7LN

I had one very brief personal encounter with GG when I was working as an usher at a benefit show where he was on the bill. I showed him where the bathroom was. He very polite and grateful. So, put him down as "nice to ushers."

man, this sucks. rip gilbert :(

Oh man, I remember seeing this and thinking it was just a catchphrase Gilbert used and not one of the strangest moments in latter-day game show history. (9:50 is where it gets really good, the escalation and laughter is contagious) https://t.co/p0yyPqCa1j

Jazz bassist Charnett Moffett. He was only 54. Played on Wynton Marsalis's best album (Black Codes From The Underground) when he was 17, and Sonny Sharrock's Ask The Ages when he was maybe 25.

Someone posted a bit on Instagram that Gottfried did on Norm MacDonald's show that was so filthy and crude but just unbelievably funny, still laughing my ass off thinking about it. RIP.

Seeing on Facebook and twitter that Nigerian hornman and bandleader Orlando Julius (OJ Ekemode) has died at 79. He and his band always put on a fun live show when I saw him

I interviewed him in 2014, when he put out an album with the Heliocentrics. Never did get to see him live, sadly.

(xposts) Auston Matthews is 5th right now on the career list of goals-per-game: he's behind two guys who played in the 1910s and '20s, Lemieux is second, and Bossy--still--is first.

Woah!

In the early Fifties, while living in New York, she struck up a whirlwind romance with James Dean, a tale she relayed in her 2000 memoir, Dizzy and Jimmy (per Hendon, the book is currently in development as a feature film).

David Freel is someone I've not thought about for years, but in the late 90s the Swell album TOO MANY DAYS WITHOUT THINKING and especially the 7" of (I KNOW) THE TRIP were vital, so RIP him seriously (in full awareness this will mean very little to very few)

Always enjoyed his organ drone stuff after seeing him at Glasgow University Chapel years ago. Intrigued and repulsed by the Aktionen, probably pretty much as intended.

brain (krakow), Tuesday, 19 April 2022 08:12 (two years ago) link

RIP. Although I was hoping for some gore over Glasgow University, I remember it being a splendid ceremony at the chapel - and you took some good pics of the performance, Krakow!

Ward Fowler, Tuesday, 19 April 2022 08:19 (two years ago) link

I went to the museum in Naples in 2019 and watched the film of the Aktion in 2010 (which was quite a restrained one) with one of the volunteers who also took part. He told us some fairly benign anecdotes and described Nitsch as an Orson Welles-ian figure who sat making small hand gestures from a distance that were both impossible to interpret and, it seems, impossible to get wrong as his only attempt at direction.
