cavs, hawks, hornets all lose as the nets win

nets have eighth now in a tiebreaker over the hawks

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 02:03 (two years ago) link

jokic playing like total trash and somehow has 21-5-2 at the half

k3vin k., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 02:15 (two years ago) link

god the Bucks are so fun to watch when Brook is feeling it

this is kinda like when a pitcher intentionally beans a hitter

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 02:34 (two years ago) link

the hornets gave up 144 to the heat tonight (second most ever in heat history) including 23 threes (new heat record), in what was ostensibly an important game for the hornets. that team seems very far away from even being halfway decent defensively, i feel like they need to fire their coach and find their version of jason kidd bcuz when you're committed to putting lamelo, rozier and bridges out there you prob need a coach who can scheme something up

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 02:38 (two years ago) link

so like... if lebron really wanted to play he'd be playing right? it seems like he's waved the white flag on this season

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 02:52 (two years ago) link

It is extraordinarily bizarre that he tweeted on 4/1 that he was out for the season, everyone myself included assume it was a lame April fools joke. But you would think he would only make that joke knowing it wasn’t going to end up being true wtf

I always thought our society had an interesting quirk in that it's against the law to hurl a 95 MPH fastball at someone's dome outside of the specific scenario of a baseball game in progress

borrego has been running junk defenses for years in an effort to salvage something for this team, it's not his fault. they've stumbled into having a bunch of decent players while having no overarching philosophy or objective.

while having no overarching philosophy or objective.

― call all destroyer, Tuesday, April 5, 2022 11:09 PM (one minute ago)

well this part does kinda seem like his fault.

i'm not saying he's a bad coach in fact he seems like a pretty good coach but they need to find someone who can coach defense better than him because their main guys are what they are

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 03:18 (two years ago) link

They need some front court roster upgrades first and foremost

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 03:24 (two years ago) link

that would help but they need a coach who can make them play defense. or like, to even try

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:08 (two years ago) link

RIP Lakers

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:10 (two years ago) link

that's a shame

mookieproof, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:10 (two years ago) link

Suns taking it to em love to see it.

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:16 (two years ago) link

spurs are good now btw

class project pat (m bison), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:20 (two years ago) link

basically once they traded derrick white for josh richardson, a 1RP and a pick swap in 2028, josh's 3-point shitting went fuego and he became the bench vet the spurs have needed all season. dejounte started averaging something like 25-8-9 and keldon johnson is a legit second option now. the vibes are quite decent, 14-10 since the trade deadline.

class project pat (m bison), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:27 (two years ago) link

Spurs are good even when they’re bad that’s just the way it will always be

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:27 (two years ago) link

spurs are the pizza of basketball

class project pat (m bison), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 04:31 (two years ago) link

ciderpress, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 05:16 (two years ago) link

Clay, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 06:29 (two years ago) link

lamelo does some crazy stuff with the ball

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 6 April 2022 14:03 (two years ago) link

lamelo is good the combo of scoring and playmaking could be pretty unstoppable

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 14:17 (two years ago) link

feel like that combo despite evidence maybe cause its rare is not really appreciated they way it should be

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 14:32 (two years ago) link

like would luka be a great scorer if he was only an average passer kinda dont think so

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 14:34 (two years ago) link

lebron would still be a great scorer

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 14:47 (two years ago) link

jokic who was a great passer long before he was a great scorer no

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 14:49 (two years ago) link

who else is there steph, trae

cool players, we are blessed

Heez, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 15:10 (two years ago) link

trae is really good he needs to find a way to not be the worst defender in the league tho which is gonna be tough cause he just so small and i do think hes prob also gonna always have problems vs playoff defense for that same reason

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 15:10 (two years ago) link

frank van vleet is small. its all about being in good position and not being lazy. trae is generally just very lazy on defense, hits a screen and dies on it, etc.

jammin on the dud (Spottie), Wednesday, 6 April 2022 15:23 (two years ago) link

"fred" van vleet is really strong hes prob 40lbs heavier than trae

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 15:25 (two years ago) link

but i mean yeah trae should play better D too, tho it might not help that much, or it might not be worth it from an energy expenditure perspective, would be cool for atlanta if they had another guy who could dribble score and so forth

lag∞n, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 15:28 (two years ago) link

trae's actually showed a lot more effort on D this year, but yeah the physical limitations are what they are. he's really having an incredible season and it's a shame people don't get to watch him more

Heez, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 15:31 (two years ago) link

i would think steph would be a better model than fvv for trae to look to as a model for where he needs to go defensively. of course as you said lagoon steph has benefited from getting to conserve energy playing with other great players

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Wednesday, 6 April 2022 17:06 (two years ago) link

steph is also several inches taller than trae and prob 20 pounds heavier. i feel like eventually most small thin offense first PGs can generally get to a point in their careers where they aren’t outright killing their teams on defense. my understanding of trae’s defensive issues is that it’s not just the physical limitation but also the mental aspects of how he should play, position himself etc so as to minimize the damage as much as possible & i feel like that stuff generally comes with a half decade or whatever of experience
