Brad, have you seen TOPKAPI (1964)? I just watched it maybe a month ago and it is perhaps one of the most "you" movies I have ever seen.

Do you have thoughts on the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE series and if so what is your ranking of the films?

What is your favorite music you've discovered (new or old) in the last few months?

i have never even heard of topkapi????

i have many thoughts about the mission: impossible series, they're prob littered across this board. ranking as of 2022:

4/1 (tie)
2
5
3

still haven't seen fallout, not sure what i'm doing with my time instead

beauty in the beast by wendy carlos is prob the most recent new-to-me album that knocked me out

Topkapi is on Prime (https://www.amazon.com/Topkapi-Melina-Mercouri/dp/B086RH9XMQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=topkapi&qid=1646948183&sr=8-1), it is a heist film from 1964 and honestly the less you know the better but I think you are REALLY going to love it, but if you need convincing here is the first 5 minutes

idk why but I started watching all the MI films and so far I've only made it thru 1 and 2, both of which I've seen before, and they're so... ridiculous in ways that are probably terrible to most people but I was like "I bet these two are Brad's favorite"

Thread title tells the truth

Brad's assessments are so enthusiastic that when I disagree the suspicion lingers that I'm probably wrong

i haven’t been capable of watching movies that aren’t directed by albert pyun but those first few minutes of topkapi are def my kind of sensory overload. will make it a priority

saw another VBM (a Very Brad Movie) this weekend, this one was Ken Russel's batshit musical THE BOY FRIEND (1971) starring Twiggy, it's a weird adaptation of a musical from 1954 but instead of just adapting the musical it's a movie abt this theater company that is performing the musical and the film basically runs over the course of a single performance and the performance is SO BAD, hilariously bad, also there are lots of surreal dream sequences and some great tap dancing, also there is Twiggy

I love that time, consensus, and Brad are all coming around to reflect the wise conclusion that MI:1 is one of if not the best of the series...

bradnelson do you like Trash Can Sinatras, specifically their 1993 album I’ve seen everything?

The other night I was attending Judas Priest while wearing a Carly Rae Jepsen black longsleeve shirt and I felt it was a Brad aesthetic moment.

brad, you were right, IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS was incredible and I can't believe I waited so long to watch it (also STAGEFRIGHT, so good!!)

if you have not seen it yet, may I take this moment to recommend EVIL DEAD TRAP (1988), which is m/l a very Japanese take on Argento? don't read anything abt it, just watch it
