New one isn't quite hitting me yet – although the backhalf has grabbed me more, and Karl, your assessment of the scattered nature of the front-half sounds spot on. I suspect it will require more active listening on my part in order to gel...

Really enjoy both Pendant releases. Got a new-ish setup in my basement that has acoustic paneling/etc. and these sound fantastic in a 'sound bubble' as I call it.

three weeks pass...

new one has really taken me by surprise. the ambient records have always struck me as being fine but never really stuck with me either. the idm detour on plonk is way more to my liking. it feels a bit like autechre lp5 melodies (esp tracks like “cork”) but with much of the rest of that sound taken out or muted. plus having one weird backpacker hiphop experiment that im not sure if i like but do respect being on there is also very 90s idm.

yeah it’s really great, maybe his best, but i hate the rap feature. it’s so bad. like run across the room and hit skip bad. but the atmosphere of vaguely concurrent bliss and unease is really unique and hard to pull off. its also really detailed but not in an overly trebly, ableton pyrotechnics way

also his record under the name Loidis is totally awesome and seems to be unmentioned here. his most dancey effort
