well isn't that just right up my alley.

i would have thought the queers here would light up to honey dijon's remix of "free woman" by lady gaga, but crickets all summer. i think honey dijon is excellent and right in the center of the vibe i go for, but people here do not get it for whatever reason. too funky / not enough risers and edm or something.

first got into honey dijon via those stunning boiler room sets where she was doing those amazing eq + delay tricks (the ray ban x br madrid set was a big one)

i remember thinking "holy shit the best thing since derrick carter" ... who also of course doesn't play half as well to americans as he does to europeans, at least not outside of chicago and LA where boompty bumpin house stuff will always be a thing

Depeche Mode - Little 15 (Priku Edit)

The Ewan Pearson mix is absolutely great and successfully builds on everything that was good about the original - but it also very much retains the cadence and feel of that original too. What I particularly like about that Timo Maas one is that it goes...off-script somehow in an unsettling way, especially around the 4 minute mark. I think it's a very interesting path to take those overfamiliar vocals and chord progression along.

feel like my antipathy toward taylor swift is pretty weak since i've quickly warmed up to this song thanks to this jayda g remix. ugh it makes me so happy that jayda g is remixing big pop releases now.
