Some stuff I've bookmarked for Bandcamp Friday in March:

p2p- Impossible Burger
https://karenng.bandcamp.com/album/impossible-burger
(Karen Ng with two others does musique concrète, ambient, noise vibes, good shit)

Rachel Beetz- Unofficial
https://orendarecords.bandcamp.com/album/unofficial
(Flautist does eerie noise experimentation, alternately very dreamy and absolutely crushing)

Robbie Lee and Lea Bertucci- Winds Bells Falls
https://telegraphharp.bandcamp.com/album/winds-bells-falls
(whizzy tape manipulation, rare bells, and antique whistles)

Yeah, tbh I rarely do the Patreon thing but I did for Foxy D because he clearly spends so much time and energy listening to things and writing about them and communicating with people.

A friend gave me this one over the weekend, truly strange and "sketchy" record with a vibe that's somehow both unsettling and relaxing.

A few things from Epic Games Friday:

This split tape from Sullow/The Silver Field is really cool, Sullow is psychedelic banjo Henry Flynt hillbilly vibes with some wild improv drumming, The Silver Field reminds me a bit of Current 93 but more chill and not as annoying, really sick tbh, been listening to it non-stop.

This record is really something else.

https://matchess.bandcamp.com/album/sonescent

It reads like hyperbole, but it is doing a lot of interesting work psychoacoustically— hi-pitched sine waves will emerge from nostalgic folk-pop into muffled fiddling...Like how Basic Channel was doing "a basement techno club from several blocks away," this is like "someone fiddling with synthesis while a band practices next door and also the dumpster is being unloaded outside the window." Really neat.

some recent stuff i've enjoyed

https://bogdanraczynski.bandcamp.com/album/addle
"Marking a change from the high-octane jungle tekno braindance for which he is most commonly known, here we find the Polish American musician in a more melodic and zen-like place of peace, which is ergonomic and decluttered, whilst also bittersweet and tinged with melancholy."

https://intlanthem.bandcamp.com/album/recordings-from-the-land-islands
interesting story behind this on the page, the final track is absolutely stunning

https://gerryfranke.bandcamp.com/album/found-myself-or-just-i-m-dead
Gerry Franke - Found Myself or Just I’m Dead

https://adelamede.bandcamp.com/album/szabads-g-3
"Szabadság is a navigation. This debut by Adela Mede, recorded in her family home on the Slovakian border with Hungary, searches through the personal, familial, cultural, folkloric and geographic of her past and present."

"Experimental electronic guitar manipulations intertwine with wandering acoustic ambience. One foot in 1970s Germany and the other in the woods, rivers and mountains of northeast Scotland."

only a couple of tracks on the bandcamp but the whole album is on spotify

Rough-hewn and exhilarating, EL Khat's second album "Albat Alawi Op.99" is a deep dive into leader Eyal el Wahab's Yemenite roots and their inspired re-imaginings. A careening orchestra of percussion, horns, strings, electricity and el Wahab's own DIY instruments. Mesmerizing retro-futurist sounds.

Two releases bunged together in recent Wire review section because they're both on Constellation and both quite 'disintegration of popsong' but also both are completely addictive and great:

Eric Chenaux: https://ericchenaux.bandcamp.com/album/say-laura

Kee Avil: https://keeavil.bandcamp.com/album/crease

Chenaux sounds great, thanks! Doesn't make sense to me why it was paired with the other, but oh well.

(If you like the Chenaux, you might like the Maria Elena Silva record from last year, 'Eros')

Ah, yeah, I liked the lilien rosarian. Recalled Fennesz, which is v welcome for me. I revisited Storring's My Magic Dreams Have Lost Their Spell recently, which was pleasant. This one seems like it will be quite different.

That record is shaping up to be real nice.

Lol I never know where anything goes. I want to post about the new Arp album New Pleasures, but it may be too beat-driven for this thread, not dancey enough for the re-deconstructed thread, and not internety enough for the RYM twenty-somethings thread. The whole album is full of beautiful slick City Pop-inspired synth goodness.
