NY media talking like the Nets are getting Simmons, Maxey, Thybulle and picks.

If Morey trades Maxey, I'd recommend he live in a non-fixed address for whatever time he's got left in Philly.

I'm not arguing it's rational, but I'm not putting Maxey in the deal.

Otoh the burned out husk of Danny Green matches the salaries perfectly.

maxey is a good young player and i agree they shd try not to trade him, the guy i do not understand being attached to is thybulle, hes an amazing defender but literally does nothing else

I wouldn't want to trade Thybulle with Simmons because someone on the team has to play D on the perimeter, but I would if I had to (unlike with Maxey).

one thing that would be good about getting harden is youd add rebounding which philly really needs

maxey strikes me as more of a sixth man personally, i wouldn't be scared to trade him. i would be scared to acquire james harden tho

maxeys putting up pretty sick numbers for someone his age can def see why a team would be weary to trade someone on his trajectory

i feel pretty confident penciling him in as a starting quality player at the least

gotta give up something to get something (decrepit james harden) (highly doubt morey would trade maxey)

i think maxey could be a sixth man of the year level player, highly valuable, tyler herro kinda vibe, no shots at him honestly. i just feel like his ultra scoring mentality may be better suited for the jamal crawford bench superstar role. i do wonder how sustainable it is to have a starting PG who averages 5 apg... tho some of this is mitigated by the overall awesomeness of embiid

from a drama and generally liking trades perspective i want to see this happen, but on the other hand it would prob make both teams better and i do not like these teams

i feel like it would be a pretty big statement by daryl after this entire saga to let a trade for his vaunted superstar break down over tyrese maxey. if the nets are just intent on pulling the plug on harden maybe they don't let it break down over that either, but i feel like it would be more of a sticking point on their end. then again daryl makes insane trade demands so who knows

herro is also a starting quality player! and both of them have a lot of room to grow too, also 5 assists is fine who cares

i do not want this trade to happen from the perspective of i do not want daryl morey to get what he wants, the very idea repulses me, i want the man to feel bad

i considered that permutation and while it is desirable in the long term it is hard to stomach the moment when daryl morey does a fist pump and says "hell yeah" to himself in a dark empty office

the more i think about it the less i'm convinced it makes the nets better initially. just hard to imagine them throwing a weird player/personality like ben simmons into the mix who hasn't played all year, w/ KD out and kyrie playing half the games, and then suddenly being a real championship threat in the playoffs. maybe in the long run it's better for them but i feel like it takes them out of the running this year

theyre probably already out of it this year anyway what with kyrie only playing half time kd being injured and hardens mind wandering, but i do think the roster makes more sense with simmons in there

yeah it would make them better next season prob. with joe harris back too. but theres a world where they could get right before the playoffs and brooklyn lifts its mandate and what not.

i kinda want this to happen cos i think harden and embiid will NOT work together and i want max drama.

i think if they have healthy KD and healthy harden they’re still a contender based on what we saw last year. but the east is better, last year they basically needed to win one round and they were in the finals. i don’t think that’s gonna be the case this year. also the team around them is prob slightly worse

its not impossible but theres so many ifs involved it just becomes unlikely

like last year in the offs they played really good D and are they going to be able to replicate that even idk

yeah it’s hard to say. i mean blake griffin was their “stopper” and he might not even be playable this year

i’m kinda caping for the nets here but as the fan of a team that could potentially face either/or the nets or bucks in the playoffs i would MUCH rather see the nets, even if they’re “healthy”

yeah for sure, the bucks you know are going to show up

between harden and embiid thats like 9 TOs a game and theyre both top 3 in FTM per game which... sadly they will be unwatchable

my guess is that this has nothing to do with the nets getting better or worse now and everything to do with them thinking harden is gone after this season.

i changed my mind, i like this trade now. all for the nets being the weirdest possible team and i think harden is probably a terribly cursed man so morey will not ever get the big W

im watching the celtics play the pistons sans cade and wow they are just awful, a team of all guys who cant score

so many bricked 3s, blown layups, sad stuff

Cade is probably going to be great and Stewart should be a good role player but outside of that it’s not promising

2020 draft looks pretty spotty at best but the hayes pick was brutal. throw them on the list of teams that really misevaluated halliburton. they’re gonna get another bite at a top 5 pick this year at worst tho so we’ll see how they look this time next year. cade is looking like he’s gonna be a perennial all star fairly soon to me
