As mentioned by Daniel_Rf a year ago, our old favourite Ogmios' Zen School Of Motoring looks to be starting on the BBC tomorrow. I wish it had stuck to Youtube for a bit longer, we only got, what, three videos?

Does anyone else watch Steve Wallis/Camping with Steve? He posted the sad news that his wife ("Beautiful Wife", as he calls her and as viewers will know her from his videos) died unexpectedly a few days ago in a short and very emotional video yesterday.
I don't ever comment on YouTube, so just wanted to say here that I feel so sorry for him and hope he is as ok as can be. I've been watching most of his videos for a few years now and he's most definitely a YouTuber whomst is a long long way from terrible. He seems like a lovely guy with absolutely zero pretence and I really enjoy his videos of various camping escapades.

The Old Cookbook Show
As name suggests he makes dishes from pre World War 2 cookbooks. The Scotch egg episode is eye opening as I never knew that they were also a name for preserved eggs.
He also does contemporary food and drinks but the Old Cookbook segment each Sunday is the highlight.

nestcams are bonkers right now fyi, real nature in the raw type ish. charter group birdcams has the best/worst/beorst? sweet little owl mama tenderly preening her fuzzy lil hatchlings amid literal heaps of dead mice in varying stages of decay, so effortlessly metal. and the barn owl drama this season has been _gut-wrenching_ like i'm serious, do not read this, it is horrible: right so a few weeks ago one of the larger baby barn owls fucking EATS ITS SMALLER SIBLING ALIVE, just horks it right the heck down its gullet, i am being completely honest with you here, it happened, there's video, don't watch it, it's the worst. or it would be the worst except for what came a while later which is EVEN MORE WORST and i feel like for everyone's safety & sanity i ought to create spoiler tags within spoiler tags -- nested spoilers, if you will -- but i don't want to break the universe and god help you, you've already read this far: the mama barn owl died in the nest, AND HER CHILDREN ATE HER CORPSE, and her bones and feathers are just lying there in the nest box now that the fledglings have moved on, and the father barn owl has brought home a new mate, and she hangs out in the nest box contentedly regarding the remains of her predecessor and it is all just like, damn.
robert fuller's cams are cuddlier, and he puts together sweet little nature documentaries about the adventures of the wild raptors on his yorkshire estate, when i long to cleanse my palate of all the INTRA-FAMILY CANNIBALISM

think this is the best thread for talking about Geowizard. he's just put out a new video, first part of his fourth attempt at crossing Wales, he's been pushed into quickly doing this as a team of youtubers had told him they were about to attempt it. so I checked out their channel and almost an instant nope from me, arrogant posh boys with heaps of bants, none of the 8 bit music or the introspection that makes Geowizard a great youtuber, I hope he can beat them.

Yeah I didn't bother with the US series, felt like well trodden territory.
― Daniel_Rf, Wednesday, 26 April 2023 10:48 (one year ago) link
It felt like he was straining to make some interesting content, but America was just not providing it, the attempt to make the football game at the end interesting just felt kind of sad. Would have been better just to do a really long hike or maybe motorbike across the whole country.
― the world is your octopus (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Wednesday, 26 April 2023 10:53 (one year ago) link
Black Country No Roads on the other hand was one of the highlights of last year, hope he does more urban exploration
Europe is TOO LOW in that ranking imo, that was a blast, although yeah very little beats the og Wales one, the sheer shock of watching this dude I'd been subscribed to for his Geoguessr content suddenly turning into the world's last great explorer, and certainly the greatest one to make their own soundtracks
The one with his brother (Wales 3) was fantastic, his brother is just as eccentric as him if not more so, I'd have that over Norway and Scotland too. Sorry, Welsh Greg, lol
― imago, Wednesday, 26 April 2023 11:04 (one year ago) link
Despite the ropey bants of his support crew I loved the Football Across Britain one as well, culminating in the only ever hair-raisingly epic, EARNED rendition of Football's Coming Home (save for when the German crowd sung it during their 4-1 WC win over England, lmao)
― imago, Wednesday, 26 April 2023 11:06 (one year ago) link
I also LOVED the understandably short-lived experiment of his long-suffering girlfriend blindfolding him and driving him to random spots across the UK and seeing how long it took him to find out where he was
