Kind of amazing to go from On the Corner and Get Up With It to writing and producing for Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway's ("The Closer I Get To You," co-written with Reggie Lucas, who was also in Miles' band in 1972-75 and wrote and produced a lot of Madonna's debut album) and Stephanie Mills ("Never Knew Love Like This Before")...

RIP. I highly recommend listening to Questlove's podcast episode(s?) with Mtume, great stuff about his time with Miles and production/songwriting career.
