My favorite story about Reid is of course when as gaming commissioner he worked with the FBI on a sting operation. He simply had to discuss the bribe. He instead leapt at this suspect and choked him, screaming "You tried to bribe me, you son of a bitch!"

I didn't see a post about Caroline Peyton, the great singer whose '70s albums Mock Up and Intuition gained a new audience when Numero Group reissued them in 2009. She died in Nashville on August 11. A fabulous singer indeed. I wrote this about her a few months ago.

Gosh - I never realised the connection. I met him (Dick) at a very good event on the history of pirate radio in London in a library in Ladbrook Grove a few years ago.

Most known for the essential Y Records. The I’m post punk funk cousin label of New York’s 99.

Also made a fortune from Pigbag. He’s an old friend of mine and was just discussing Denis on FB in the wake of Get Back a few weeks ago.

Sandra Jaffe at 83 ( and her husband who died in 1987), took over Preservation Hall in New Orleans in 1961 and had jazz bands there ever since. The Hall was integrated under their management at a time when New Orleans was segregated.
