When is the right time to change car tires?

give me the freedom to change a tire. give me the chance to be a man, standing on the inside shoulder of a curving 6-lane highway with semis exhausting soot and commerce all over my face as I press down and over on the tirejack and pop a few lugs off like it's nothing at all

all in all though i'd say now is about the right to check your tires. no harm in checking.

You're kinda on your own once you get past eight years, especially with wide temperature variations (like you might find in AK) between at-rest cold and at-speed warm. Otherwise I just use the penny trick for checking tread depth and be done with it.

Always check your tyres before you drive. There should be about four.
