after he left boston lot of people were speculating hed end up with the jazz and well i guess they were right

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 18:58 (two years ago) link

yeah seemed like a forgone conclusion though this is on the quicker side of the timeline

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 18:59 (two years ago) link

also thought he might take more of a part-time consulting gig with them but this does not look like that

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:01 (two years ago) link

this seems like a serious role, wondering how its going to affect his golf time

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:02 (two years ago) link

i'm never clear on the actual climate of SLC, i wonder if you can play golf most of the year there or not

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:03 (two years ago) link

they get a pretty serious winter there is my understanding

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:06 (two years ago) link

yeah they had the winter olympics there…

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:07 (two years ago) link

this seems like a pretty good move for the jazz seeing that new owners often do really dumb/meddling shit. this feels relatively stable

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:08 (two years ago) link

also now dwyane wade works for danny ainge?

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:08 (two years ago) link

i went to SLC once it's pretty nice tbh. i'd live there

ciderpress, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:15 (two years ago) link

doesn't seem like it'd get midwest level winters

ciderpress, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:15 (two years ago) link

yeah i dont think theyre super bad winters but colder longer and more snow than say denver

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:16 (two years ago) link

yeah i know up in the mountains it's pretty wintery but wasn't sure about the flat part where the city is. but anyway sounds like he'll have plenty of time during the season to be CEO

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:20 (two years ago) link

interesting

It’s now believed that Detroit is focused on trading Jerami Grant, per @JakeLFischer pic.twitter.com/XgOR3noKa9

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:33 (two years ago) link

they would be crazy not to

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:41 (two years ago) link

kind of guy a lot of teams would enjoy having

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:43 (two years ago) link

yeah i think their options are to trade him or to hang on to him and do his extension which would be like $100 mil and through his age 32 season, which does not seem ideal.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:47 (two years ago) link

yeah someone is going to overpay for him in both the trade and extension a la aaron gordon just cause they need a guy like that

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 19:49 (two years ago) link

yeah that team should not be locking up players below all-star level right now

ciderpress, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 20:08 (two years ago) link

hes good at the right price but will get more than that so... yeah see ya

Spottie, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 20:50 (two years ago) link

chris paul was really remarkable last night. i love that hes still cooking in his late 30s. hate him but gotta respect the hustle

Spottie, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 21:27 (two years ago) link

between him lowry & steph wondering if we’re getting to a point where elite PGs without any chronic injuries a la kemba can just play much longer than previously thought (assuming steph is still going in 3-4 years)

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 15 December 2021 21:38 (two years ago) link

nash was still pretty great through age 37, as well.

Spottie, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 22:21 (two years ago) link

seems intuitive that PGs who dont lean on speed can just keep going

ciderpress, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 22:58 (two years ago) link

Ainge said he won’t be running the day to day operations of the Jazz.

I really need the suns to win the title this year so cp3 can get the career reevaluation he deserves

k3vin k., Wednesday, 15 December 2021 23:15 (two years ago) link

feel like he kinda got it last season but a chip would elevate it even more

Spottie, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 23:35 (two years ago) link

i agree that the lil bastard deserves a ring

lag∞n, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 23:43 (two years ago) link

i... do not.

Spottie, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 23:48 (two years ago) link

he was up 2-0 last year!

Clay, Wednesday, 15 December 2021 23:51 (two years ago) link

Why the hell did Jerami grant sign there

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 December 2021 00:04 (two years ago) link

I mean no offense to the city of Detroit. Maybe he’s into techno

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 December 2021 00:06 (two years ago) link

The winters are gnarly and the summers are surprisingly hot. Which to me kind of rocks

Matt Armstrong, Thursday, 16 December 2021 00:09 (two years ago) link

jerami grant wanted to prove he was better than just the fourth or fifth guy on a team and he did! i feel like if he gets traded to a contender this year he’ll basically have had his cake and eaten it too. the nuggets turned out to have had a lost season last year (maybe two this year), he got the role he wanted and excelled in it, played his way onto the olympic team & then may end up on a playoff team anyway. all for the price of 1.5 seasons in detroit, not too bad at all

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 December 2021 00:17 (two years ago) link

matt if you like weather like that you should consider a move to chicago

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 December 2021 00:17 (two years ago) link

golden state shd trade for jerami if they want to cruise to the title imo

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 16 December 2021 00:32 (two years ago) link

his stated reason was playing for a black coach iirc

pretty hard to make this trade work the contracts just dont match good, wld be cool tho

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:01 (two years ago) link

wym, could do their 3 lotto picks for jerami straight up

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:09 (two years ago) link

fair

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:10 (two years ago) link

i might wanna keep kuminga if i was them. wiseman is a must trade tho before he loses any more value

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:13 (two years ago) link

imo they should just go all in this year but then again i am a world famous poker champion and master of risk-taking so grain of salt

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:16 (two years ago) link

yeah, i don’t think that’s wrong. but if i was them i’d try and claw him back in any deal. feels like he could help them next year. and in terms of atheltic pop there’s no one on the roster who compares

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:22 (two years ago) link

i agree with trading wiseman and keeping kuminga kuminga looks like he could be pretty amazing, i mean if the right deal comes along you do what you have to, but then the thing is with the warrios salaries which are all > $25m || < $10 youd prob have to package wiggins along with wiseman and then youre already at $40m which requires a big trade, and is it even worth moving those guys for a player of grants quality prob not i mean is grant even better than wiggins, in conclusion itd prob have to be a solidly allstar level player to make it worth their while and it wld be hard to pull off due to the need of both teams to put multiple dudes in

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:23 (two years ago) link

i do think wiseman deserves a chance before we throw him in the trash too, he is a very large athletic man who moves very well, he could also be very good, tho they should move him if they find a deal that really moves the needle

lag∞n, Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:26 (two years ago) link

they need a guy who can guard the "big wings" which is the most important position in basketball

class project pat (m bison), Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:29 (two years ago) link

i don’t think the problem is wiseman himself as much as the fit is just terrible. extreme win now situation plus they have a center who is always gonna be on the floor and a fairly defined system that doesn’t really involve the center scoring a lot in basically any situation. he needs to get to a team where he can just get clean minutes.

from a size + athleticism perspective he’s pretty rare and has skill. but i don’t think him getting on the court for the warriors is going to increase his value at all unless he’s just gotten way better and nobody knows it yet

J0rdan S., Thursday, 16 December 2021 01:30 (two years ago) link

players do often get way better in the 2nd year, but yeah hes prob not going to help them much now
