Thinking back on it (and rereading the above posts), Tom definitely fucked Shiv over. Couldn't square posts about Logan's drawn out negotiation with a rapidfire clause removal based purely off Tom's info. Suppose there's a chance that such a removal was always possible after Logan learned of it from the 3? So there is still a chance Tom knows who gets fucked and hedged?

obv Logan had already been putting wheels in motion but Tom either helped put it on lock or motivated Logan to get Caroline to make the final ok or whatever

I wonder if Logan couldn't have sewn the thing up after the kids arrived anyway. It seems their plan for a coup had a fatal flaw independent of Tom, and that undercuts the betrayal and Tom's gain. He is still married to the coup.

Seems unlikely Tom will get what he wants out of this. Could see him actually going to jail in the end, maybe at the close of season 4. Shiv knows where the bodies are buried after all.

I love how it set us up to sort of be rooting for the kids — unified at last! — but then when they get fucked it's like, oh yeah, they all had that coming

lol i read something this am that jeremy strong had the show build him a pillar to sit on as he had his breakdown with shiv and roman but it wasn't working, he claimed he felt like a failure, and then sat on the ground and boom knew they had something. i will say great acting on all three of the actors part though

i didn't totally follow that conversation. Greg is on some slack channel that waystar employees are on but I couldn't sort what it was that he'd learned there.

he learned that all the waystar execs were in italy, complaining about the hard pillows to their assistants, but that was knowledge the kids wanted, i dont think greg did anything for tom tom just likes greg

it sounded like a cross-company slack though, because it was the financial firm lackeys that were complaining about the pillows, I thought

complaining to waystar staff who were then venting about it on slack

i had mixed feelings about that ep but i enjoyed tom & greg teaming up and tom screwing over shiv. i don't even think tom cares that much about staying in power at waystar, he was just genuinely hurt by shiv. he has feelings and the roys don't know how to deal with feelings (see also roman and shiv's responses to kendall's confession).

i suspect that logan already had his contingency plan set up in case the kids blocked him and he didn't really need tom to give him the heads up (everything happened too fast for tom's warning to be helpful), but logan still appreciates the heads up as a sign of loyalty.

the kicker for next season will be the reveal that shiv is now pregnant with tom's seed!

i think it finally dawned on tom just how capricious shiv and the rest of the kids are where logan will actually reward you for loyalty or is at least cognizant of the concept and its benefits, he told tom he wouldnt forget re the offer to go to jail and so forth, and of course logan always wins, then add that to the fact that shiv just generally despises tom and treats him like shit

I really liked the moments of Roman actually making Kendall smile in his despair. Showed Roman to be not just a narcissist, but trying to lighten the situation (maybe his only skill).

it's so immensely perfect that Roman's entire concept of how to be funny is "put on a 'foppy British man' comedy voice"

was a nice touch how logan gave roman one last chance to be loyal before revealing that he had him beat

great last ep in that it felt inevitable and you could put the pieces together (esp with Tom) but it felt like a surprise ending.

I did not like this season, I hate the music so much, the whole thing is shot like a calvin klein ad from back in the day, I can't believe every season of this show just sticks to the plot of that m&m sketch, the slave castration part was scene was the only good one I thought

I was about two-thirds negative about the first season, one-third with season two, and completely satisfied by this season. Most of the problems (I probably wrote about them early in this thread) had to do with waning credibility of moments episode by episode. The show has improved so much.

There are so many things that objectively I recognize are fair criticisms of this show, and none of them bother me, and it just makes me think that maybe more shows should be extremely well-written and well-acted instead of being not so well written or well acted and then I would like them more
