grayson allen signed a 2 year $20 million extension essentially admitting in front of the entire world that he is an NBA player of middling value. that closed the book on the discussion for me. that he now makes some wide open practice three pointers playing with the best player in the NBA who makes every scrap heap role player look better than they ever have in their careers doesn’t sway me

and he was acquired from the grizzlies for almost literally nothing. i’m not fooled

fwiw i have reviewed the conversation, for my own edification purely and not to prove any sort of point, and a couple small mild posts aside jord is really the only one taking issue with grayson allen the basketball player everyones elses posts are more like

the zion thing is pretty disappointing, i def thought he would work harder to keep himself in shape. that being said, his injuries have been far from catastrophic and there’s still a world where he gets healthy, gets in shape and is a dominant player

my concern with zion is less his injuries and more that he doesn’t seem to have any defensive role in the NBA

lonzo becoming this good at shooting is crazy. he's basically an elite 3 and D player at this point who is also an elite passer

the thing about lonzo was some people at the time (not on ilh per se but out in the world) were claiming he was like a generational point guard and was headed for superstardom.

that was silly he still has no off the bounce game but hes def turned himself into a legit player

Good win by the Sixers - they played good D but it might have also just been an off night for GS.
