Anyway I really liked Love Medicine back in the day but never got around to reading anything else, maybe because of what mookie mentioned.

Seems like the two biggest Louise Erdrich stans round here are aimurchie and mookieproof.

Strongly disagree. The fact that the quiz is written should not invalidate knowledge gained from hearing rather than reading.

if an answer, when spoken aloud, is the correct answer, then the answer will likely be accepted as correct.

A typically average season for me: 10th place with a 12-10-3 record. My long-term LL goal is to even out my career record, which is now 363-374-138.

finished with 22 CAA in four straight losses, fell from 13th to 24th, just avoiding relegation

i did okay but drew the short straw. i think i can bump back up to c in a season or two.

I smashed my previous personal record for TCA by 9 questions (why couldn't this season have happened when I was in B?) and nearly doubled my 9(6)s with two more this season.

But I also had a combination of rotten luck and my worst defense ever (though only by a handful of percentage points) and so I ended under 0.500 though thankfully above relegation. NA also swept me in our two matches.

or you could make subtweets here and hope that we figure out which names you're dropping so we will be extra impressed with your slyness

Anyone doing the Italy ML? I forgot to sign up. Just submitted answers on two 1DSs though.

I'm doing it. I have a weirdly hard time reintegrating the LL habit after a long break, though. Haven't really looked at any of the 1DSes from the past few days.

My first three Italy ML matches have all been ties, and my first Women's Sports ML match was a tie, too.

I guess the latter isn't surprising since the leaguewide get rates for that first set of questions was: 93%, 92%, 84%, 74%, 17%, 6%. I'm guessing a lot of people, like me and my opponent, went 4(4). We knew the easy questions and defended them appropriately.

That's exactly what happened in my match too.

Astronomy's not a strength of mine, so I don't anticipate doing particularly well in that ML, but I view it as a learning experience.

Not sure how I feel about Astronomy 2 yet. So far it's been reasonably interesting but can only imagine what will happen with it actually starts to get difficult according to the Smiths. (Style question: should Smith be capitalized or not?)

Been making unforced errors and now have two ties and a loss in Astronomy but still it’s an interesting topic and the ML seems okay.

Yup, exactly how I thought it'd play out: 72th %ile, could've gotten into the top 10% if I'd moneyed the Wittgenstein question (which I'd made a mental note to money).

well that was my thinking and i figured that would be one most would miss. I just didn't think i would!

Starting to think there is some kind of penalty kick anxiety thing going on in these situations.

A case in point, except not quite: I confidently put and monied one incorrect answer in the Billy Wilder 1DS. According to the Me tab, even with that wrong answer, if I had monied differently I could have jumped from almost 300th place to the top ten.
