probably less deranged than the poppy shit but still

let's make lunch and listen to five finger death punch (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 5 December 2021 17:46 (two years ago) link

Apparently also happened at West Ham and Spurs so I guess it’s everyone.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 5 December 2021 17:48 (two years ago) link

nice to know i wasn't alone in my response. deeply weird. think the same thing happened after soham but might have been while the girls were 'missing'.

leicester defending crosses hilariously badly.

oscar bravo, Sunday, 5 December 2021 17:59 (two years ago) link

Yeah I was trying to think if there had been any other comparable gesture for previous notable outrages, but couldn't think of any other than when they named the league cup after Baby P from 2008-10

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Sunday, 5 December 2021 18:00 (two years ago) link

ramsey should score there

oscar bravo, Sunday, 5 December 2021 18:03 (two years ago) link

also that "YOU WILL ALWAYS BE A BLUEBIRD" banner after the death of Emiliano Sala was a rather bizarre bit of recreational grieving

calzino, Sunday, 5 December 2021 18:13 (two years ago) link

apparently the law is goalie deemed to be control of ball if his hand is in contact with the ball while it is on the grou
nd except if he has just made a save. so do michael oliver and the var team not know the laws of the game? or is there some other reason they disallowed a villa goal?

oscar bravo, Sunday, 5 December 2021 19:28 (two years ago) link

Only a matter of time before the dead child badge is the new poppy

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Sunday, 5 December 2021 20:04 (two years ago) link

don't give them ideas. amazed at least one of the goalscorers this weekend didn't take off his shirt to reveal a top with the child's face on it.

oscar bravo, Sunday, 5 December 2021 20:11 (two years ago) link

One of the details about this story is that the boy was a Birmingham City fan.

When Smeato Met Moaty (Tom D.), Sunday, 5 December 2021 20:23 (two years ago) link

Birmingham City supporters not generally given much respect by other Midlands fans though, of course

When Smeato Met Moaty (Tom D.), Sunday, 5 December 2021 20:25 (two years ago) link

because their team are cunts

let's make lunch and listen to five finger death punch (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 5 December 2021 20:32 (two years ago) link

anyhoo apparently there's a vigil going on outside the child's house now, shd probably find another thread to roll our eyes at this

The second bit of the law people are quoting is ambiguously worded and doesn't to me suggest the intention is that it suddenly becomes not a foul in that situation because KS had just made a save. It's more the idea that KS has the ball under control there is kind of lol, and so is him pretending that Ramsey broke his thumb and now he needs an x-ray. Will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of that one

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Sunday, 5 December 2021 21:18 (two years ago) link

No issue with that disallowed goal tbh

Also think schmeichel was fouled in the final minute and shouldve had a pen

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Sunday, 5 December 2021 22:49 (two years ago) link

I think Jonny Evans pushed Schmeichel into Mings and then he was flat footed and didn't jump for the header so Mings cleared him out. Stick to the day job of demanding every single Aston Villa goal be disallowed, Kasper

Also didn't see much wrong with Watkins dispossessing Evans and going clean through and scoring, and Evans then getting a free kick for falling over, but they didn't show/postmortem that one on MOTD so haven't seen it back

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Sunday, 5 December 2021 23:13 (two years ago) link

tbh even in the highlights there was a lot going on

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Sunday, 5 December 2021 23:21 (two years ago) link

Poor Richarlison.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Monday, 6 December 2021 21:18 (two years ago) link

Gray for under £2m was a hell of a deal.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Monday, 6 December 2021 21:52 (two years ago) link

Arsenal. Where are they going?

in twelve parts (lamonti), Tuesday, 7 December 2021 07:49 (two years ago) link

Uh...does Raul Jimenez have a holiday booked or something? Stunningly dumb otherwise

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 11 December 2021 13:19 (two years ago) link

Yeah that was weird

crisp, Saturday, 11 December 2021 13:27 (two years ago) link

almost a brawl there

Punster McPunisher, Saturday, 11 December 2021 16:56 (two years ago) link

well the Rangnick honeymoon is over

absolutely diabolical today

Number None, Saturday, 11 December 2021 19:23 (two years ago) link

they looked a bit knackered really. new training regime taking its toll?

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Saturday, 11 December 2021 19:29 (two years ago) link

a Newcastle team so morally bankrupt they make Leicester look good

let's make lunch and listen to five finger death punch (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 12 December 2021 15:47 (two years ago) link

Gabby Agbonlahor furrowing his brow next to Chris Sutton in the studio on BT is a new low. is this the first time he's been on? stealing a living since 2012.

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 19:26 (two years ago) link

I was once stuck on a tram in Manchester with a load of pissed up Villa fans who were singing the immortal football chant "Gabby Agbonlahor is fast as fuck.. fast as fuck" but this was about 2007/08ish when he might well have actually been fast as fuck!

calzino, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 19:35 (two years ago) link

yeh from 2008-2010ish he was pretty effective playing Tigger to John Carew's Eeyore. like all not very good cult strikers he managed to sprinkle maybe 3 seasons' worth of magic over a 15 year career

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 19:45 (two years ago) link

I was in my brilliant season ticket seat in the Holte End in 2008 when he scored a perfect hat trick in 11 minutes against Man City. "Where's all your money gone", they taunted the travelling fans, and about two weeks later they found out

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 19:54 (two years ago) link

I had some love for Gabby as a player but he took the Talk Sport shilling a while back and Wolves Twitter loves replaying his last mad bullshit about how we're fucked and def going down

let's make lunch and listen to five finger death punch (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 20:29 (two years ago) link

Tbh I’ve been enjoying this so much I think I can probably even stomach a little “analysis” from Gabby and Sutton for the sake of the video clips

Norwich tho, fuckin hell. Poor Deano

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 20:34 (two years ago) link

Villa have scored some good goals this season, good lord

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 20:51 (two years ago) link

Ashley Young looking every one of his 43 years. Would be nice to see Carney Chukwuemeka get some minutes, I saw him live at Stamford Bridge when he came on for Sanson in the carabao cup and he looked very good on the ball.

Otoh maybe the feeling is that if he’s fucking off anyway to go and sit on the bench at a bigger club then why bother

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 20:57 (two years ago) link

He fulfilled Grealish's Wantaway Mercenary Who Closes The Game Out By Getting Constantly Fouled role perfectly against Leicester

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 21:04 (two years ago) link

Would be nice if they can convince him to stick around. feel like Ramsey’s example should be instructive in that there is obviously a pathway into the first team for academy players these days

Leaves a sour taste having an unproven youth player dealing out ultimata tho, even if he sticks around and is great it would presumably end up getting ugly

How good is Ezri Konsa, seriously

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 21:14 (two years ago) link

43 year old Ashley Young was the glue holding that first half performance together, somehow

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 21:21 (two years ago) link

weird isn’t it. Whenever Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins are on the pitch together we suddenly look like relegation fodder

Windsor Davies, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 21:23 (two years ago) link

That's So Carney

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 21:36 (two years ago) link

Incredible from Bielsa or whatever

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 14 December 2021 21:40 (two years ago) link

now that Bielsa has become unfashionably shit and we can all start wishing relegation upon vile L66ds again.. Murderball my fucking arse!

calzino, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 22:08 (two years ago) link

I saw Chukwuemeka live a few weeks ago. He was Villa U21's best player and got subbed off early, presumably to save his legs. Still lost to Charlton ressies

imago, Tuesday, 14 December 2021 22:22 (two years ago) link

Aguero retires

Surely, surely Pep must now recruit a striker

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Wednesday, 15 December 2021 12:11 (two years ago) link

toothless performance by brighton, they played like drawerful of spoons

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Wednesday, 15 December 2021 21:36 (two years ago) link

you wait 4 games for a goal and then along comes Saiss

let's make lunch and listen to five finger death punch (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 15 December 2021 21:39 (two years ago) link

Tidy little goal and all

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Wednesday, 15 December 2021 21:49 (two years ago) link

beautiful Neves pass

let's make lunch and listen to five finger death punch (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 15 December 2021 21:51 (two years ago) link

glad to see Wolves win. well, didn't 'see' it (missed the last three games due to work and life) but glad they got one in the win column!

hopefully this review helped someone (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 15 December 2021 22:38 (two years ago) link

PL suspension coming up I suspect

Number None, Thursday, 16 December 2021 14:30 (two years ago) link

Hard to see it continuing like this. A couple of weeks’ break to get everyone boosters looks inevitable.

Not suspending the match when Leicester originally requested also means Spurs couldn’t reschedule the Rennes game.
