subaru used to have a reputation in new england for being a good cold weather vehicle, not sure if that was justified or continues to be justified

they are very good in the snow ice and so forth, i live in vermont and if you added up all the subarus and pickups it would probably be more than half the cars, their all wheel drive system is considered to best or nearly best

the wheels look good maybe you could go with an even beefier sidewall on the tires

without a lift im not sure you can go bigger, and even with a lift not sure itd work as the car hangs down well past the mid wheel, tho you can get smaller wheels and bigger tires like so which is a pretty standard offroad approach

My dad is/was a big car guy and he would autocross the family car in the early 80s, so he put like sway bars and other stuff to stiffen the suspension of our 1983 Honda Civic station wagon.

xp I also think he removed the catalytic converter to increase the horsepower by some infinitesimal amount.

removing the cat can be pretty toxic if you you don't appropriate precautions lol

pretty sick, tho the tires kinda look too big for the wells imo, spacing starts to look weird

this one maybe even more so

lag∞n, Wednesday, 1 December 2021 21:53 (two years ago) link

feel like the car will be periodically making contact with the tires too

lag∞n, Wednesday, 1 December 2021 21:57 (two years ago) link

yeah you can test the tires at full extension of the suspension (probably need to remove the shocks/springs to do so) and turning all the way to the left/right to see if there's rub

if there's rub you can fender roll
