rangnik as director of football would worry me a bit. red bull franchise operation recruitment was legit.

oscar bravo, Thursday, 25 November 2021 22:20 (two years ago) link

he's apparently moving into a two-year consultancy role at the end of the season

remains to be seen what exactly that means though

Number None, Friday, 26 November 2021 08:55 (two years ago) link

Conte quotes are correct but worrying

Our players are much worse than anyone might realise when daddy poch isn't using them as avatars.

There is nothing to learn from Liverpool today, this is just a stroll

The Speak Of The Mearns (Jonathan Hellion Mumble), Saturday, 27 November 2021 16:48 (two years ago) link

Wolves played like ass in the second half, lucky to get a point.

not what I expected after West Ham win last week.

Cool Im An Situation (Neanderthal), Saturday, 27 November 2021 16:55 (two years ago) link

Very interesting debut performance from New Ref in Palace-Villa

Let a bunch of egregious fouls go, blew for a Palace free kick with Palace clearly in on goal with an advantage, immediately sent off Dougie Luiz for a legbreaker horror challenge that turned out on closer inspection to be a minor foul and had to be bailed out by VAR

McGinn's winning goal was tremendous, left foot curler from the edge of the box after a long passing move

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 27 November 2021 17:29 (two years ago) link

^^and that's your trip around the grounds complete, thanks gents

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 27 November 2021 17:29 (two years ago) link

Lovely

Love McGinn. Unfortunately the arrival of Stevie Me has consigned Villa to the midden.

When Smeato Met Moaty (Tom D.), Saturday, 27 November 2021 19:59 (two years ago) link

Ah he might not be here that long, there's still no definitive evidence he's actually a good manager

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 27 November 2021 20:17 (two years ago) link

Appears to be quite good at winning football matches tbf

imago, Saturday, 27 November 2021 20:32 (two years ago) link

Easy when you're playing against a lot of dross with the added advantage of 12 men on the park and 2 more running the lines.

When Smeato Met Moaty (Tom D.), Saturday, 27 November 2021 20:38 (two years ago) link

Unclear how much you support Palace based on that post; further incrimination required

Am I going to have to do the joke about Benteke clean through and playing advantage myself then or what

Have to be real youd have to immediately sub off rashford there, stayed offside the whole time which is sackable

Ramsdale has some strong Pickford energy - like he's playing on a hair-trigger. Always looks like he's just been in a scrap too.

Lovely Spurs goal on the break.

Reguilon attacking more has made a big difference to the level of threat.

It’s still notable how many completely unforced errors (passing to the opposition under no pressure, in particular), the defence and midfield are making though.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Thursday, 2 December 2021 20:55 (two years ago) link

Spurs are very good value for the two nil theyve just gone up, effort and sharpness there even if quality not great

xp!

Fred with a deft assist at the right end just as everyone was writing his obituary

imago, Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:02 (two years ago) link

Whether that arsenal goal should've been given or not, surely Fred should've covered the goal when he saw de gea was down? Instead he runs away from it leaving no-one on the line

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:08 (two years ago) link

But yeah, tidy equaliser

o shit the sheriff (NickB), Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:09 (two years ago) link

Goal entirely De Gea's fault imo, a pathetic and cowardly display

imago, Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:14 (two years ago) link

The odd absolutely horrible pass from spurs, very strange affliction

fix up luke shawp (darraghmac), Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:17 (two years ago) link

Well this is fun

imago, Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:33 (two years ago) link

Apart from treading on his own keeper, Fred has been the best player on the pitch?

Vanishing Point (Chinaski), Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:34 (two years ago) link

That is monumentally idiotic of a tackle

imago, Thursday, 2 December 2021 21:46 (two years ago) link

Fred is actually very good when he's not very bad

A landmark day: after the 3rd West Ham goal was the first time I'd heard any semblance of atmosphere in the London Stadium

Jota with the worst miss I've ever seen in my life

Looking like one of those days

ignore the blue line (or something), Saturday, 4 December 2021 16:35 (two years ago) link

I'm not sure at what point in the second half this match became this scrappy frantic thing but it's anxiety inducing. But that Jota shot earlier, Sa was caught way out the box and Jota breaks towards a keeperless goal, narrative dictates that he wins it against his old club in dramatic fashion, but oh apparently there's a different narrative going on, Conor Coady who has been unable to walk for the past ten minutes suddenly manifests for a goal line clearance
